Good-Bye September

United States

Happy Monday Everyone! after days of rain we have a slightly brighter sky this morning. Certainly not a sunny day but at least it isn't as dismal as it's been. Late yesterday afternoon I got a text from my oldest daughter asking if we had power. Seemed like a question out of the blue and I just replied with a yes. I hadn't been on Facebook and didn't know that our whole county was basically without power and my little community wasn't affected. So, my daughter and granddaughter came over and spent a few hours here. My granddaughter just started her teaching job last week and needed to do her prep for her classes today so she was lucky we had power and internet. They wound up staying for dinner which turned into a nice family meal. My son in law was out with the fire department doing something and I don't know if it was related to the power outage or not. The power came back by 8PM and they went home. The only explanation we could gather was a transformer had blown at one of the power stations and caused this huge outage. I'm sure there were many people who were watching football or baseball when the tvs went off. I can imagine sports fans being pretty mad they missed their games. That's pretty much how I spent my Sunday and as always another weekend flew by. Today is the last day of September and another month waves good-bye. Hope your Monday is going well

I had a belated birthday celebration on Saturday . I was waiting for my son to be able to make it in from the city and he was here for the weekend. Today we are expecting a few relatives who are visiting from the U.K.

Whole country without power! That is insane ! Sometime in 2012, India had a big coal shortage and many areas faced power cuts. In Florida, the current Hurricane could be responsible. However I don't understand why the whole US suffered? Yet one thing is for sure : Whether citizens have a good or bad time, politicians won't stop fighting!

It is sunny here today, and very nice. It will still be hot this week, but I can see a little relief coming sometime soon. I’m glad you guys had power. That would be frustrating to try to get ready for your lesson plans and have no way of getting anything done. Plus, you got in some fun family time.

We were so lucky that my tiny little area didn't get affected. I can only assume that since my community is fairly new it's on a different grid. Yes, my granddaughter was lucky she could come here to use our internet. Family time always makes me happy.

It worked out well for you and your family that your service wasn't disrupted, it sounds like it was a nice afternoon and evening. My Monday was super busy today, I feel exhausted now.

Yes it definitely worked out well that my little community didn't lose power. The only thing we could figure is my community is fairly new and must be on a different grid. It certainly caused a lot of inconvenience for those whose power went out. Hope you are relaxing after your exhausting day at work.

Friday and Saturday we didn't have power because of the hurricane. It came back on early Sunday morning. Yesterday I got a shirt I ordered from Walmart. It fits. I may have to get another color. lol I also worked on my boyfriend's diamond painting.

That hurricane really hit areas hard. Glad you got your power back . It's so hard dealing with power outages Glad your shirt fits and you've had time to work on that diamond painting. I'm intrigued by diamond painting and might try it one of these days

There will be many without power I guess in the storm-ravaged cities. But it's good you got to spend time with your daughter and grand-daughter.
