And so it begins, my favorite month! Guess what? It's raining again. However, this is supposed to be the last day of rain though..Thank God. The flooding that has affected the Carolina's and other parts of the South so badly is now impacting us in terms of grocery delivery. Food Lion, the main store in these parts is Carolina based, and someone last night posted that the store has not been able to receive a truck due to the impassable roads down there, and the store our local grocery is not well stocked. They were imploring people to show patience. I certainly will. We are lucky here to have only minimal impacts. Pray for those affected for the hurricane, and the bad news is another one is coming.

Yes, parts of one of the main interstate in North Carolina were washed away. At least they are saying this next storm doesn't look like a big one.

I hope that your store is able to get their deliveries soon. I heard this morning that dock workers are on strike which means we'll be seeing a shortage of everything in the next few weeks It will probably be a repeat of hoarding during the pandemic.

I just hope the strike doesn't go on too long. They pick the worst time to strike don't they? They better get it settled fast or it could impact the election God Forbid!

@Marilynda1225 I doubt they could get enough of a consensus to do that really.

@snowy22315 wonder if it's planned specifically to impact the election.

I have seen in the news the terrible devastation that the hurricane caused. We can be patient when we know how badly others were affected.

Yes, it is really dreadful. I have some relatives in Western North Carolina, but they are an hour or two west of the flood area I think.

It's raining here too and expected to get worse. Thankfully there is no typhoon on the horizon.

I was shocked at how many people lost their lives. People have to start listening to evacuation orders. My heart goes out to the family and friends of the deceased.

Really, I'd be grateful too if the major impact was groceries taking a little longer to arrive. I hope the next hurricane is going to be very gentle, please Lord give time to people to recover from Helene.

There is a strike going on somewhere in the U.S. which will impact delivery of goods, leading to shortages and price hikes. Check it out.

Yes, it's a dockworkers strike which means all the ports are closed so nothing is going out for delivery. Pretty soon we'll be seeing a shortage of any kind of fresh fruits, vegetables etc since they are all perishable. I guess everything else will just go in warehouses until the strike is settled. I can only imagine a repeat of all the hoarding that went on during the pandemic in 2020. I already bought extra toilet paper
