So, the squirrel is back. Normally he likes to just play on the porch, but sometimes he sounds like he is bowling, and today he is involved in some kind of contstruction project. I had to laugh today, because he brought along a nut and and something that looked like a rock with him.He has been busy outside and the rock is gone. I am going to have to look to see what he has been up to up out there.Hopefully he is not trying to break into the house. They can really cause damage when they want to. He has a nest. outside somewhere as far as I know. I hope he is not trying to build a "vacation home" on my porch. I wouldn't want that either.

I think the nut was already broken up. I am not sure what he did with the rock. I was otherwise occupied and when I looked again the rock was gone. At least I think it was a rock. I couldn't see it real well. It possibly was a nut, but am guessing rock as it was a bit misshappen.

@snowy22315 - Squirrels are entertaining, but they can be messy.

He is cute. I just don't know what hijinks he is up to.

So everything is good so far? Nothing unusual for him?

When I had a dog here he took one out. I would have never allowed it..but I didn't know what he was doing. I saw him slooking under the car and the next thing I knew he was carrying a lifeless squirrel which he buried outside near the deck. I should have put two and together, but I hadn't seen him be aggressive to a squirrel before.

@snowy22315 Some dogs are more predator prone than others.

When I lived at home, a squirrel got into the house and ran amok. They get used to being fed and then run into the house when the door is open. I hope your squirrel doesn't get into the house! Have a good day.

Yes, his getting in is my worst fear. I wouldn't like that at all. I did see a video of one in a house once running around neurotically as they do with the cat looking on I don't feed him or anything. I don't want him getting too comfortable

@snowy22315 It's good that you don't feed him.

A squirrel managed to crawl up in a friend's car and chewed a bunch of wires under the hood. A very bad deal...I hope your squirrel behaves!

Zso far so good. Someone who used to live here had a problem with a mouse in his engine. It chewed wires, and the car ended up needing a tune up.

One of my son's friends grew up on a farm. He recently went to the farm to visit his parents, and like in his early years, he parked his truck by the barn. The next morning it didn't start...mice chewed into the wires under the hood. It was almost brand new, only 6 months...he was so upset. Not that I blame him.

I hope he's building a stone house outdoors, so he won't need your porch.
