Solidarity and lack of it, militancy, fairness, climate..sad day

I was born after the Second World War. I thought we had matured enough not to come up with another. There have been many wars during my lifetime, at least four major involving my country. But I thought the scientists did enough to speak of global warming and we saw Chernobyl as one of the dangerous incidents that affected many countries, UNINTENTIONALLY. So yes, we are interconnected. We have only one planet...mother earth. For now. For the sake of our loved ones, we need to do the right things. We need to be fair. Being fair ensures that we are not jeopardizing the future of our loved ones, isn't it? After we are gone... With the UN failing dismally periodically, and with countries expressing solidarity based on religion, wealth, trading relations, strategic locations, friendships, obligations, ideologies, and power, rather than humane aspects, it makes me wonder...if the world will end during my life time.. Personally, Iran should have condemned Hamas for October 2023. Scathingly. Personally, the US and the rest of allied forces along with the UN should have re-examined the Israel Palestine conflict, and found a more acceptable solution to it, than just dismissing the smaller acts...as well, the powerful fella can take care of it with power attitude. Power can never...never....never.......erase an issue. It is just a temporary suppression. Our own leaders will learn of it in a couple of days when the election results are out. Fairness in issues is the key. We cannot prevent the end of the world. But we can defer its arrival enough to ensure that our loved ones manage to find ways to survive...we owe our loved ones that chance...not Lamborghinis, not mansions, not chocolates, not cruises....we owe them survival. Merely because we are not a party to it, does not mean we should not be there....to resolve it...because what Russia and Ukraine are doing ...what Israel Hamas Hezbollah Houthis and Iran are doing all that is also affecting our planet, our atmosphere, our climate, our food....there are more rains, floods, droughts......and diseases.......all nations in the UN need to discuss openly the issue, leaving aside the friendships, leaving aside the religion, and put an end to militancy, terrorism, for survival of mankind, and all living beings...who don't even get to vote. Ironically, that also is the route for survival of all religions... Heart is sad today. I was expecting a world war a couple of months ago...looks like it is gonna happen now...

The outlook for any sort of peace isn't looking good.

Australia and New Zealand would be comparatively better off, and perhaps South American countries...should there be nuclear war. Rest of us ..

@JudyEv But the war will never be with you and the US. It will only be with Russia and the US, North Korea and the US, China and the US, or Iran and the US and Iran with Israel, or India with Pakistan. These are the options. It is only a matter of time when one of the leaders loses self control and initiates that nuclear war. More than half the population here would be erased, irrespective of who has become crazy. Survivors will have radiation related issues, and shortage of food, not to mention, lawlessness. Because it can affect me, even if I have not used a single missile against Iran or Hezbollah, or Israel, it concerns me.

Humans never seem to learn from past mistakes. I hope a world war can be averted. Your opinions are very well put.

I can feel your sentiments. I also wondered why there are still wars. Instead of helping each other, they continue to do so.

I heard this...and ........well, it does tell me, that somebody whom I do no harm can eliminate me simply because he has lost it....

I am getting more worried about a big war too. I think that's part of why the US hasn't got involved in these. If we jump in then other countries will like China.

North Korea will be the one I would be seriously concerned about. China ...not as much. It has a huge population, and it understands the implications of it for its population...with radiation ...its ideologies will die out...

@vandana7 North Korea is another one. I sometimes wonder if any of them care as they will be locked in bunkers

Also, Europe and USA are affected mostly due to wars because they have to shelter the war refugees! Yet they do nothing as it seems for the ceasefire atleast! I would likely to correct one thing.. We will extinct first like Dinosaurs from this planet!

So true, the situation is very frustrating to say the least. No value is given to human life, and even less to the environment. It's all collateral damage for some alleged "greater good".

As humans we sin, against one another, at some point. So to an extent, we can be angry...but the ones with no voice, cats, dogs, horses, birds.....why must they die along with us...I wish to send gifts of beautiful dogs to Netanyahu and Khomeini....and Putin and Zelensky....let them realize that these creatures are dying without any crime....when the seek fairness, they should be fair too. Right?
