A simple question: At what point does my cat scratch my back, rub my shoulders, and stand on my butt?

I have said all I really need to say. Kitty is asleep at my feet. When she looked up at me with "soft eyes," I rubbed her back, scratched both sides of her neck, and then gave her a butt rub and tail stretch. At what point does she do all of the same to me? I asked her that question just now and she flicked her tail at me. And I was honored. How does one "flick the script" on a cat?

She won't do! She is your animal owner and you are her human pet! You have to be always on service for her!

I just gave her a free therapy session. I said, in my calm voice, "The trucks outside, and those strange humans, are here to fix the carport. They will not eat you." She is asleep now. Sigh.

What does it mean "flick the script"?

It's really "flip the script." It may be a reference to movie scripts. I think it means have someone new "take charge." Or, more generally, have something new happen that changes things radically in the movie. Or play. Dang it. Now I'll have to check its origins. .

@TheHorse - Thank you, it surely comes from Hollywood habits to change actors.

@LadyDuck I'll have to look it up! I thought it meant a "plot twist."

If you had a dog, it would pay you back in licks and affection...but you have a cat. The cat rules the roost! lololol Have a good day.

Everyone says I am a dog person. I have had: a parakeet, a horse, and a cat.

You don’t get to flick or even flip the script. You are owned by a cat. Therefore you do what she wants, when she wants you to.

I would have written flip the script, like a proper human, but I was distracted.

@TheHorse A proper human? That doesn't sound like any fun at all.

@MarieCoyle Does she know I sometimes ponder what she would taste like with carrots and potatoes? Just kidding. I think of onions too. But only wen she walks slowly directly in front of me. Is she herding me, like a border collie?

@TheHorse Yes, you must obey. I have the opinion that people who live and care for pets are very special and kind people. Don’t go getting a big head, but it’s obvious that Kitty loves you.

"Flick the script"? What's that? She will walk all over you, though.

It's really "flip the script." I'll have to look up its origins (or "oranges," if I am Donald Trump).

@wolfgirl569 I often talk to Kitty when she is half-asleep. She flicks her tail as acknowledgement.
