Not very tempting!

I picked up a book in one of those remainder bookshops where they sell off excess brand new books. I thought it would make an entertaining gift for a friend, but I couldn’t get the sticky price label off so in the end I had to keep it.
I put it in the bathroom for some quick reading matter and it has been quite amusing. The title is ‘Slippery Tipples’ and the book is all about spirits and liqueurs from around the world. Each one has a bit of history about how that particular spirit was allegedly created and so on, followed by tasting notes and then suggestions for its use such as cocktail recipes.
Of all the liqueurs and spirits in the book, I have to say that very few of them actually sound at all tempting. This, for example, is from the tasting notes of the Hungarian drink, Unicum:
“Unicum has a slightly musky aroma, reminiscent of mildew, and a bitter opening blast of battery acid is quickly replaced by a lingering rusting iron water-butt aftertaste. Good for: getting rid of unwanted guests at drinks parties”
I think I’ll give it a miss! The book has provided some giggles though.

I have seen magazines in toilettes in the US. I would not want to touch those books after I have been told about how bathroom air is not that clean even after chlorine and lysol.

Reading on the toilet is quite common here. Certainly it's something I have done ever since I could read! We do always close the toilet lid before flushing though.
Do you spray chlorine and lysol in the air in the bathroom? Surely that is much more dangerous to breathe!

@Fleura I add chlorine to the toilette when I clean it. And spray Lysol after I use it, close the lid and the door after I wash my hand with lots of soap.

I like the way you have described Unicum. Not much of a drink but your language is flowery (lol)

It does sound interesting but yes, probably most of those drinks I would pass on also,

I had a laugh reading the description of Unicum. Certainly wouldn't be on my list of liqueurs to try but the getting rid of house guests was funny

I think Unicum was intended as a joke...
Try using lighter fluid or oil to remove the price tag residue.
