Addiction is when we neglect what needs to be done and pay attention to somethiong that we choose to do - going over board.
These days I am addicted to'Play hearts online' I have no control it seems to me. It is such an absorbing game and the joy I get when I win makes me get back there . No There is no payment and that shows how addicted I am The picture shows the game I was playing before writng this post Do you think I will win?
Are you addicted too?

I do not think cooking could be considered as addiction. You are learning. More power to you

I too am addicted to solitaire... although I don't play online but it seems hard for me to ignore the urge to play it whenever i turn on my laptop.
I start by saying only 1 game and end up playing endlessly

After writing for a long time, blogging, and posting I like to relax and play Backgammon, Yahtzee and Hearts against the PC, I don't do it for too long but at least several times a day,

Till a decade ago , I was addicted to lo of offline and online games. I would even cut classes to play games all day long. I used to play EA sports , EA cricket and then Microsoft games like solitaire , spider solitare and so on. Later it became mobile games like candy crush and injustice. Looking back , I do see I spent a lot of time playing instead of doing things productive. A few years on , I might occassionaly play a game or two , but not like old times. I do not intend to spend long time playing games as I would like to focus on things which are productive. Good to know your gaming interests!

Some people might feel trapped by unhealthy patterns, but there is always hope. For those dealing with more severe addictions, inpatient treatment can be a game-changer. It offers a structured environment with professional support, making it easier to break free from destructive cycles. If someone is struggling to manage on their own, seeking help through an inpatient program might be the right choice. It’s all about taking control and finding the right path toward a healthier, addiction-free life.

I've been addicted to videogames before, but usually of the single-player type.
Now it's more about online activities such as myLotting or watching YouTube videos.
