Giving our plant stand a coat of paint

Between us, we’ve given this plant stand a coat of a product which inhibits rusting. My brother made it. Although he was totally blind so couldn’t do the welding or painting, he measured and cut all the pieces. He passed away in 2017. We didn’t get on particularly well but I’d like to keep this as long as possible. Vince did most of the painting but it’s worn him out so he’s gone off for a nap. We’re hoping to get to the movies at the clubhouse tonight. They’re showing The Pursuit of Happiness. We haven’t seen it before but have been told it’s very good. The photo shows the plant stand soon after it was made.

That looks like a pretty decent plant stand. Your brother must have been talented with this skill. We did get our plant stands painted last year around the same time. Pursuit of Happiness is a wonderful movie. We really loved it. I am sure that you are going to like it too. Have a good time

I haven't heard anyone yet who didn't like the film. It's based on a true story and I almost always enjoy those.

@arunima25 I enjoyed it very much but it was heart-breaking to see so many homeless people trying to find a room for the night.

The plant stand looks great. It definitely does. Two people have put their efforts in it. Both so close to you, it has to look good, isn't it? It looks like a finished product. Worth keeping up for sale. But I think you should keep it as long as you can. After all, there are memories of your brother attached to it. And I liked your decision of keeping it.

@JudyEv What I liked is that it's useful to you. And if you have more of potted plants, that's even better. You'll need the plant stand and also you will have to offer some time in the day to raise your plants. So that's double. Great!

It's useful to me. I have a lot of potted plants on it in an outdoor area so I won't be selling it.

It surely is a beautiful plant stand. You did well to keep it. A brother is a brother and no one can take his place . My dad used to say, you and your brothers are sharers of blood of your mother.

Why don't you have any plants? I don't have many on my stand but I'm going to try to start some of my own off plants I already have.

I cannot believe he could do that being blind, it's an excellent job. I also need to repaint the railing of the balcony.

@JudyEv I think you'd be able to have new succulents from bits of the other ones. Some plants do well as transplants

I'll try to strike more plants from what I already have. I'm sure some of the succulents would make new plants if I broke bits off.
