Waiting for my husband...

It's 11 AM here and I am done with my work at school. It's gloomy and pouring outside. It's been pouring since the last night. My colleague picked me in her car in the morning. I don't like to drive in such rainy weather, as such I don't enjoy driving any more and will avoid it as much as possible. Husband is working from home today. He just called that he is having a haircut in the salon very close to my school. So, I don't need to wait more for my colleague to drop me back when she gets free at 1:30. I will wait for my husband as he should be done in some time. It would be tough to get a cab in such weather.
We woke up to this view in the morning as you see in the picture ( I hope that it gets uploaded).
All wet and soaked in rain, the garden looked extra green. But the terrace was flooded and some water entered the gazebo and the furnitures were also getting soaked. We saw that the water is not passing well through the drainage as all the dry leaves and twigs collected to block it. Husband wore his raincoat and cleared it. If we didn't notice it in time, the water would have come to our master bedroom in some time.
The city is on yellow alert since yesterday. And seeing the situation from last night, it might be on orange and red alert now. I asked my daughter to take a leave today, but she insisted to book a cab and go. Now, the intensity of rain has increased and I would be worried till she comes back in the afternoon. I hope that the roads are not clogged and she can get a cab easily.
I am sure that many parts of the city would be flooded by now. I saw a lots of messages in our community apartment group in the morning, warning people to travel to certain parts of the city. Also, many suggested to work from home if possible.
That's all the blabbering for now. I can hear the wind gushing and loud thunders again.
How is weather at your end? Hope everyone is safe and happy in their myLot corner.
Take care

We have this rain prediction till weekend. I just pray that the plants stay safe. I have just planted some brinjal seeds and seedlings have started coming out. I am worried that they might get washed away.

We are waiting for the sun. We have not seen sun since Monday. It has been raining and drizzling non stop. The city was on red alert after 48 hours of continuous pouring. Many parts were flooded. Government declared a holiday on Wednesday and advised everyone to stay indoors.
Today it's not raining, just gloomy clouds and drizzling. We have this kind of weather predictions till this weekend.
Yes, October is not for heavy rains like this. But it does happen sometimes. I remember few years back, we couldn't celebrate Diwali in November due to continuous pouring for few days.

Good you caught the drainage issue before things got worse—always a hassle when water sneaks in like that. Hope your daughter gets home safely with all this rain. Over here, the weather's quite the opposite—sunny.

Despite cleaning the drainage, we did get flooding in the gazebo area..the rain was so heavy. We had to move the furnitures from the gazebo inside. Thankfully, the water didn't enter our bedroom.

She came back safe and that was a big relief. It was bad for 48 hours. Our city was on red alert. Yesterday, the government declared a holiday for schools, colleges and offices. Everyone was asked to stay safe indoors. Today it is better and things are open. The dat is still gloomy but it's light drizzling.

@grenery8 It's not back to normal. We had a break for whole day on Friday and then the rain came back in full power on Friday night. And we have the same situation again. It's pouring outside with loud thunders now. Many places in the city are flooded.

Yes, we noticed it in time. The rain was so heavy that despite the clear drainage pipe, we got some flooding in our gazebo area. We moved the furnitures inside. Thankfully, the water didn't come inside the master bedroom.
