And I Forgot

I had an idea for a fantastic discussion to post here, like a real discussion! But I was in bed, trying to fall asleep. We all know the shower is the best place for brilliant ideas to strike, but the bed is no joke either. I could have used my phone to write it down but I was trying to avoid the blue light that interferes with sleeping. I thought repeating it a few times in my head would have helped me remember. Unfortunately, that didn't work. It was a great topic to discuss and it didn't involve politics nor religion, it was perfect! I only remember how amazing it was, but not WHAT it was. Lesson learned, I suppose. What now? Shall I talk about my dinner? I had fried eggs.

@AmbiePam Thank you! I had the same model in another post, about reading books. It's a penguin. I found it on an Easter egg. It's cute and a pleasure to work with.

hahahahah! I know how you feel. Lesson learned keep a pen and paper with you, you can write down a summary or keyword even if your eyes is closed, it works for me.

I think we have probably all did that. You could maybe put a notebook by the bed and write a few notes about it

@rakski I wish my meals were exciting enough to be worth sharing, but I know it's a popular topic here no matter what.

Being a writer and a poet I keep some paper and a pencil in my night table drawer so iif ideas come at night I quickly jot them down,

@RasmaSandra That should work, except... how do you write in the dark?

@somewitch I have a clock with an LED light that gives just enough to see what I jot down or I get up to switch on the light, Of course you can also have a night light,

Smart phones have a built-in blue light filter that you can turn on. I have mine set to sunset to sunrise. It gives the screen a cooler redish tone and reduces eye strain at night.

@somewitch Like I said, you can set it and use it only at night. It'll help if you do need to use it during the overnight hours.

@kaylachan I got rid of it because I was tired of the reddish tone, but it might be a good idea to turn it on just during sleep hours.

That is so annoying. Usually repeating it several times helps me remember but not always.

Ideas come like waves in the sea. And the good ones have to be retained but that is easier said than done.

@Shiva49 That's true! Then I got ideas about projects that don't necessarily involve myLot I could share, but I'm always afraid someone could steal my ideas. But I don't write them down elsewhere either, so they go forgotten.

To me;ideas rarely strike my mind.Often I think lying on my bed in a completely dark room.My last discussion was started two or three days back.It had received some responses. Now I want to start another discussion;but have no ideas.

@somewitch My problems are;lack of sharable ideas and;if I have one;how to write it in a easy to understand way.English is not my native language.I think in Hindi and then try to translate it in English. You can understand;it is not easy for me.

@somewitch I don't use any tool.I don't know how to use AI either. Here on mylot wee use very simple language. That's why. I don't have any problem unless and until it comes to initiating a discussion. Some of my friends use AI.I'll learn from them.

@Shivram59 I've also been struggling with creating new discussions lately, and sometimes it isn't even due to a lack of ideas. It's just that I can be a bit of a perfectionist and sometimes topics require a lot of effort to be written down, and I'm feeling lazy at the moment.

@dya80dya Yes, it's so frustrating! I should probably lie to myself and tell myself that the idea wasn't as good as I thought it was at the time.

@aureategloom I got two problems with notebooks: I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I want them to be tidy - and always fail at it - and I'm afraid someone might be too nosy and read the content. It would be great otherwise, it would also make me think less as my hand would get tired if I were to write most of my thoughts.

@thelme55 It doesn't seem I'm going to remember any time soon, maybe it wasn't as good as I thought. That can also happen. Why would I use apps such as MyFitnessPal when there's myLot where I can track my diet?
