At home, would you protect your feet with slippers or go barefoot?

The ability to move around is one of the greatest gifts most living beings have. For humans, it is with help of the feet. Protecting legs and feet is thus essential for health and comfort. When we go outdoors, we often wear shoes to protect our feet. Question is what about indoors: do you wear slippers to protect your feet or go barefoot? Slippers can provide cushioning and protection and if beneficial in case the floors are hard. Slippers can prevent to a certain extent the discomfort of stepping on sharp objects, often a big benefit when we have pets or kids. Some footwears also are beneficial for people with foot issues. I personally wear slippers indoors. I have specific ones for indoors and outdoors. Walking barefoot at home improves flexibility and strengthen the foot muscles naturally. Some find it more comfortable and a sense of freedom when walking barefoot at home. However, strain to feet and heel pain are more probable to happen when we walk barefoot. So, are you better wearing footwear at home or is it comfortable without wearing the slippers at home?

I don't generally wear slippers. It's either barefoot, in socks, or what I call house shoes, which are just an older pair of regular shoes I make into regular shoes. I know that's a bit of a full circle response, but that's what it is. lol

I love to be barefooted when at home. But since I have plantar fasciitis and some heel spur, I need to wear a slipper

I never go barefoot at home, unless I'm in the bathroom about to take a bath or shower. I either wear slippers or walk with socks, the floor is usually too cold to feel comfortable.
