It wasn't me who won a car

A friend of Vince’s emailed to say someone with my name had won a car on Telethon. Unfortunately it wasn’t me which is a bit of a shame but good luck to the winner.
I’m always amazed when I search Facebook at how many others share the name I’m looking for. There are few people that I’ve searched for that don’t have at least one other person with the same name. Even names with odd spellings come up more than once.
Do you know how many others share your name?

My last name is German and it seems that there are only 2 families in my country with that last name. Yet there is a person with my same first namein the other family.

@JudyEv Sometimes first names get very popular at a certain time. I named my youngest daughter after my first doll and it seemed that everyone that year named their baby girls that way.

@marguicha I think my sister might have been names after Shirley Temple but that is only a guess. My sister was born in 1938.

@BarBaraPrz Is Przeklasa Polish? We had a lot of Polish children in our school. Their parents emigrated to Australia after WWII.

I worked at UPS during holiday rush and was surprised to see they had someone else with my name working there. Karen’s not that common a name, and my last name is not common, either.

I'm glad my name is rather rare. Evelyn is pretty old-fashioned. The York name however is way too common. My real last name I have only seen on other time anywhere besides the family.

@JudyEv ........Thanks. Yes, it is. I could have changed back to my maiden name but I like the history behind it.

amazingly there are quite a few ladies with the same first and last name as me. I just searched as my sister does that for other people my search irritated me as to why they put up such private information about me WITHOUT my permission
so to answer your question quite a few!

I try not to subscribe to anything nor do I add apps, etc. I'm trying to keep myself out of the spotlight but I suspect 'they' are smarter than I am. They probably know as much about me as they want to.

There were 3 others with my name when I married.
I was kind of happy to change my last name.
There has been 1 of those 3 that has passed, but someone married another one with my first name, and with my maiden name the tally remains at 3.
With my married name, I felt secure that nobody shared my first and last name.
Then a brother-in-law divorced and took up common law with a woman named Julia.
Thankfully, his brothers and sisters decided that they did not like her for a host of reasons, and began to call me Aunt Julia, and the next generation does the same. She never adopted our last name, although they have been together long enough that she legally could.

I don't personally know anyone who shares my name, but when I first moved to the city I live in many years ago, there was another guy here who had my same name. He was some sort of handyman, and I'd always get phone calls from people looking for him to hire to fix things around their homes. I used to joke with my wife at the time that I could earn a few extra dollars taking on all these jobs that people would call for.

My maiden name was Candy but there aren't too many of them around in my state. I think there are distant relations in the east.

Very few. The one coincidence is someone with my name who lives very close to us. She's a distant cousin of my husband's I think. I used to get her test results, etc. There was an article in the local paper about the Rare Cherry Disco. It said that Linda ____ was dancing at the Rare Cherry. Everyone thought it was me!!! Have a good day.
