Dancing the night away - or maybe just listening

Last Friday, we went to the clubhouse for ‘Happy Hour’ as it is sometimes called, although it lasts much more than an hour. Most order fish and chips or pizza. These two shops are next to each other about ten minutes away. A couple of people put in the orders for everyone at about 4pm then, around 6pm, several others will pick up all the orders and bring them back to the clubhouse. Everyone takes their own drinks. That’s the backstory. Two of our residents are from Trinidad and on Friday, nine of the friends, all from Trinidad, entertained us playing steel pan drums, percussion and bongo drums to backing tapes. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed listening to them and a lot got up and danced. I’ll write a bit about the actual instruments next time. I found it all quite fascinating.
