Protein Powder Pudding, my first try

There was an amazing deal on vegan protein powder on Amazon: it was 50% off and you could get one free if you bought two. My mother got some and later I followed suit. Apparently the reason the price was so good is that the expiration date was approaching.
Then my mother found better protein supplements and let me have her share of these.
I've been drinking one protein shake every day but I got fed up with it. The smell has become off-putting, it's plant-based and has a bit of a beany scent. Chocolate can also be a bit pungent sometimes.
So I looked for recipes and I came across the protein powder pudding!
Here's the "recipe":
greek yog(h)urt, one cup,
protein powder, half a cup.
Whey proteins are preferred, vegan proteins might require additional liquid due to their tendency to be more absorbent.
I mixed one cup (150 g) of vanilla greek yogurt with maybe 2 scoops of chocolate vegan protein powder (30 g). I liked the way it looked and didn't add more liquid.
I got flavored greek yogurt because I've never been a fan of yogurt and was afraid the simple kind would have been too sour.
I'm not sure the scoops were 2 because it was the very bottom of the container and I couldn't scoop, so I poured it all.
The first spoon was delicious, then it became overwhelmingly sweet.
Trying plain greek yogurt won't happen any time soon; next time I will add less protein powder and perhaps some cocoa. I don't know if coffee mixes well but that could also be a way to make the pudding less sweet. I'm positive I'll successfully "crack the code" for the perfect protein powder pudding!
And I'll let you know when I do.
Nutritional values were the following:
234 kcal
21 g of carbs/sugars
1 of g fat
33 g of protein!
Would you try this pudding?
Now that I look at the photo I took, maybe it wasn't as good as I thought. It seems peanut butter, I should have added more liquid as the recipe suggested. Oh well, next time.

I´m eating less red meat now but I have replaced it by fish and legumes. That is enough for me. I eat more vegetarian but not vegan.

@somewitch I am not greatly interested in eating healthy. I leave that to my body. It is incredible how my body says NO to everything I should not eat, including the amount of portions. But although I eat less meat now, I don´t mind a smaller than before juicy steak.

@marguicha I think a totally vegan diet lacks some proteins/aminoacids as well as vitamin B12, as long as you're having milk or cheese even vegetarian can be healthy. I also try to avoid red meat, been eating very little meat in general but mostly chicken.

@marguicha My mother is the same, she can't eat more than what her body allows no matter how much she likes the food; it just won't go down, so to speak.
I used to be "greedier" with the food I liked but I learned to stop when I feel full, but it's more of a mindful choice that requires a certain degree of willpower.

It's very hard finding the right one..so many different brands. I like making protein ice coffee every morning, I just use premier chocolate powder, cold coffee and some Carmel on top.

@hillhjill That's true. The deal on that vegan protein powder was so good we felt like we had to take advantage of it, but it would have been better if we took less just to taste it. It might not just be the brand but the flavor too. I guess the one you use is whey protein, it's better for recipes. Vegan is said to be chalky so I wouldn't try making ice coffee with it.

@somewitch yeah the one I use is whey, I would not know anything about the vegan one..maybe I'll look at tiktok about it.

@hillhjill My mother wanted the vegan type because she has a problem with casein, and whey protein might contain traces of casein because they're both milk proteins. But the fact whey is a milk protein, it makes it easier to mix with other ingredients in recipes. Not like it replaces milk entirely, but it's somehow closer to milk than legume-based protein, so it's more suitable for coffee. While coffee is technically a bean, I wouldn't add more beans to my cup.

@allknowing That's lab activity, they might or might not use chemicals.

@allknowing It's a powder, it looks like flour or cake mix. It contains dried proteins that were extracted by various sources; in case of vegan protein powder, legumes and a few starchy plants such as rice or potato. In case of whey protein powder, milk is used.
Then more ingredients are added, such as artificial flavors and sweeteners, to improve the taste, as well as thickeners. You're meant to make protein shakes with the powder, blending it with a liquid such as water, but many people try creating recipes that end up being lower in calories and higher in protein than usual.

@wolfgirl569 Thanks! I still feel sick thinking about it.
But it was very filling at least, as protein takes longer to digest.

Oh no! Do you remember this scene? By the way, I like yogurt. But I don't like overly sweet. And I'm afraid of pudding!

@TheHorse No, I've never seen that scene/movie before.
I understand why you're afraid of it, but you're good to go if you follow the instructions. At worst, you make enough pudding for a month.
I realized vanilla greek yogurt is good on its own, while the chocolate protein powder is very sweet. Even if I were to use plain greek yogurt, no way I can mix a cup of yogurt with half a cup of powder. But adding a couple spoons of instant coffee fixed the thing, it's way more edible now. I just have to finish all that protein powder and then I'm done.

@TheHorse I've been trying to avoid smoothies because I hate the noise the blender does, but they would be much better for sure.

@nela13 We were too inexperienced with protein powder back then, I will definitely prioritize neutral especially if I plan to follow recipes. I don't mind artificial sweeteners but the amount they add to flavored protein powder is just too much.

Not sure I would like that, but I do want to try chia pudding sometimes.

@snowy22315 Chia pudding sounds good, and healthy.
I just need to "get rid of" that protein powder before it expires, I wouldn't buy again. At least not the chocolate flavor.

@luisadannointed No problem, it's still a recipe I wouldn't recommend although I didn't follow it diligently. But I don't do well with cups, I use metric system like most places in the world.
Thanks, I hope you had a great day too!

@JudyEv Instant pudding would probably be harder to make than this, but at least you're certain it's going to taste nice.
