Beginning today, I will no longer be allowing discussions about other earning sites. This includes survey sites.
For the past 4 years (a discussion concerning this was posted in July 2020) the rule has been you must leave a link to the front page of the site you are talking about when discussing other earning sites.
In the past week I have deleted discussions from 3 members that have been here multiple years because they were discussing cashing out at sites and not leaving the required link in the discussions.
After thinking about this for a bit I have come to the conclusion that the easiest way to stop this from happening is to simply no longer allow discussions about other earning sites.
Therefore beginning today no new discussions about other earning sites will be permitted here.
(I may rescind this in the future, but for now, that is how it shall be.)

I don't blame you, other sites don't allow stuff like this so why should Mylot.
Thanks @daddyevil for the suggestion

Thanks for the post. I wonder if you would delete a post if someone says that he will go now to do some surveys, not mentioning where.

Thanks for the update.
Talking about other sites is sometimes part of the routine, but we have a lot of other daily life stuff to talk about as well!

@GoAskAlice - I don't blame you, either. I don't even know why you would let people leave a link to another site. It's best if people just keep their discussions to sharing directly here on MyLot and leaving other sites out of it. Thanks, @daddyevil @DE for letting me know about this. :)

@DeborahDiane I always thought the same, the other sites do not allow people to promote earning sites. This has to be changed ages ago.

@porwest - That's true. I just never mention other ways I earn money because, after all, I don't necessarily want the competition on other sites!

The question I have is, and this is an honest question, if the post is not meant to PROMOTE the site in question in any way, but rather to "report" on something, why is not including the link an infraction?
For another example, let's say I just bought a hammer, and I bought it with earnings from a survey site and say, "I just got this hammer after I cashed out on 'pick your survey site,'" I must include a link?
So now we can't even mention another earnings site? I think this new rule might create more confusion than help, whatever the aim of the rule happens to be that I frankly don't really understand the purpose of. I think we need a better explanation here. Otherwise, you might just be in the process of creating many more headaches for yourself than any you are trying to rid yourself of.
Anyone else a bit confused? I'd be interested to know other's thoughts and will read the comments so far. After all, it's a discussion, right? Just trying to avoid unnecessary added confusion here. Really, that's my honest aim.

@somewitch I would agree. An affiliate link, I would consider to be SPAM. Which definitely goes against the rules. That rule is very clear. This new one is not.

@porwest I think promoting a site often involves sharing an affiliate link and that goes against the guidelines. What was asked in 2020 was to name the site clearly - which I didn't see happening in some posts - and share a link with no affiliate code.
I agree sharing the name would suffice if one wants to report or share their experience, but Admin was concerned about people asking for an affiliate link via PM, meaning "recruitments" could still happen in private.
There seems to be some confusion about whether or not posting links to other sites is allowed, so I would like to make it quite clear, once and for...

Yes, that's the easiest way.
I don't recall reading about this in the guidelines so I guess the only way to have known was to read the 2020 discussion, which is unlikely to happen as members hardly ever read the guidelines in the first place. Sad to know but I get it.
