It seems that as time goes by not only I get older but also everything in the house.
Last Wednesday, when Anita came, she literally ended with one of the kitchen counter doors in her hands.
I called Mario, her brother and my hndyman, but he was working out of town.
I asked him when could he come and he said today at night. I saved him the last piece of cake and waited for him.
Mario filled Luna´s big box with food (I don´t want Anita to do that) and he also fixed the door while I made coffee. As Mario´s was the last piece of cake, I made a cheese grilled sandwich for me. We talked a bit while we ate and then I asked him how much I owed him. He said that the delicious cake was payment enough for him
I´m now ready for bed. Tomorrow Anita is coming So it will be a day with more chores.
But for the moment, I´ll mylot in bed. See you

@rakski Mario is Anita´s brother. I think that he treats me so well because he sees that I treat his sister well. Anita is my maid and in this country there are many people who are abusive to their workers.

In my country most people treat their maids as is they were next to slaves. I don´t. And because of that I receive a lot of spacial help from them. Leticia started being my maid. Now she is a dear friend after over 25 years. She stopped being my maid when my husband was dying. No friend could have done more for me than her.

@marguicha - My parents always treated our maids very well. I remember one who always stayed longer than her hours and wanted nothing because she was better staying in our home than in her home.

@marguicha - I pity all those poor maids who move from the Philippines to work in Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and other countries of that area. They are exactly like slaves, it is horrible.

it's good to have friends that know how to fix things and are willing to help you out.
cake seems like a reasonable price to me

How wonderful it is that a handyman can be paid with coffee and cake. He and Anita seem to be good people to have around.

@MarieCoyle I have often thought that the poor people have better values than the very rich.

I´m buying cake often lately. I do it instead of buying fruits for dessert.
