Halloween is rapidly approaching. Does your area do trick or treating? Do you participate? They are having some kind of trick or treat thing this year again, where you can meet trick or treaters at the end of your driveway. It is usually the Saturday before Halloween. You are supposed to include yourself on a map..but not sure I want to be out in the cold for two hours..although it might not be that cold. I might just sit outside for awhile with some candy and see if there are any on the street. I think on my end of the street there are a few kids, but I don't know what age they are. Other kids from the development probably wouldn't walk up this far. It's a hike up here from the other parts of the neighborhood.

Halloween isn't a big tradition here but there are always kids in the street asking for trick or treats.

Trick or Treating is done here on Halloween from 6pm to 8pm. Since we're in a community the rule of thumb is is you are giving out candy to leave your porch light on. Those not participating leave light off. This way the trick or treaters know which houses to go to. We always participate and I get a kick out of seeing the little ones all dressed up.

I used to like it when I lived in more urban areas. I miss it, so I will probably try to hand out some candy if I see treaters around. They aren't coming up this driveway I guarantee that though. Its a bit scary even in the daytime.

@Marilynda1225 There is also a big hill...and unless they are on this part of the street..they are not too likely to venture up this way.

@snowy22315 I guess you wouldn't get many trick or treaters if they have to venture up your long driveway.

Our apartment complex has a party at the main office for the kids at 5pm around Halloween to keep kids from bothering residents by trick or treating. They just have a lot of games set up, candy to hand out, and of course, it gives kids a chance to show off their costumes.

That sounds nice. When I was a kid we always trick or treated on Halloween night..now it seems to be the weekend before.

I'll definitely be taking my kids trick or treating. Plus my two younger ones have a halloween dance at their school, which we'll take them to as well.

We don't usually get kids coming into the village and they can't get to our door on the other side so probably no trick or treating for us.

They are having various Halloween things for the kids. We never get any kids at our house. Have a good day.
