It's only 2:29 p.m. but we're already cooking our dinner so we can just chill later when the wind and rains begin to batter the region again. I cooked rice and did the chopping earlier, at around 1 p.m., and then asked my youngest daughter to cook the curry dish. She's 14 years old and often willing to help in the kitchen. Her older sister is still recovering from illness and currently working on some school assignments.
I initially wanted yellow curry but there's no coconut cream in the pantry. I found a box of Japanese curry roux instead, so Japanese curry it is. We're using strips of chicken breast fillet. I added in some slices of fresh turmeric for everyone's benefit.
Husband is home early and resting in bed before he watches the second installment of a congressional hearing. I don't enjoy hearing the discussion so I *required* him to use headphones.
It's nice to have an assistant cook. I'm able to do other things like post on myLot or update my blogs.
I hope you're well and safe wherever you are.

That's good. Even my daughters assist me in cooking and other chores. They have been doing it from a very young age.. it's very beneficial for the children too to be involved in chores. I have also finished cooking dinner along with lunch. I want to do some assignment later and maybe some paper and documents arrangements.

Talking of Japanese curry it took me to Singapore where we enjoyed a Japaense dish and strangely it tasted the same as we do back home.

@almostoveryou I am glad she is on the mend. I hope that, too.
That wish is always fulfilled when I am in my second home in the Phil.

Glad to know you're doing well, Thelma. My eldest daughter is well on the mend, thank God. I hope her recovery ensues and that she won't get sick again in a long, long time.
I wish that someday or soon, you get to have someone cook for you even just for a day.

@almostoveryou Ow, you have tried Indian curries as well? I saw Japanese restaurants provide level of spiciness on their menu!

I find Japanese curry sweeter than other curry dishes. I think it's because it usually contains shredded apples. It tastes almost like the Indian curry and may also have varying degrees of spiciness.

I hope you get to try it. Many Japanese restaurants serve this curry dish. The sauce is usually brown in color.

It's so nice your younger daughter is helping with cooking. It sounds like the eldest is doing better even if she hasn't fully recovered yet. I hope she does soon!
I've been doing better, just a little cough at the moment.
