What do you do to kill wait times at hospitals and travel?

Wait times especially long wait times are frustrating and stressful. We could also be mentally and emotionally drained if the waiting time is also associated with uncertainty, outcome and lack of communication. Killing times during long waits can be challenging. One of the age old techniques and which still is relevant today is reading a book/magazine. Some carry books/magazines just to kill time during the long hours especially in healthcare. There are few book/magazine stands available in some locations to help people kill time. With smartphones, some people not only read books but also watch movies or play games. Again , they are few who plan their activities long term or even make to-do lists. Although not always possible especially when you are under high stress, wait times does give opportunity to relax and do something productive. So how do you transform the wait times you encounter to valuable breaks?

For me,rather regular waiting hall than one in hospital but,it's nice bringing someone with you so by talking, time will fly faster and you will feel better as well.

Sight seeing and observing are good ways to kill time. We do that often while we travel. Deleting unwanted content from phone is also useful in these times. Thanks for sharing!

Last time I was waiting for a doctor appointment, I played games on my phone. I also like looking at my surroundings; waiting rooms can also come with posters or TV screens. I usually avoid magazines because many people touched them and they feel dirty to me. When I travel, I tend to look out the window. If I'm at a bus stop, I look for birds to watch.
