Just Too Weird

I just got a strange phone call from a phone number with an unknown name. I googled both, and they don't exist. It gets weirder. As soon as I hung up from searching, I heard someone saying hello. It was my best friend. She said I called her. Her husband had the phone and said hello to me several times, then handed it to her. I did not call her. I did not hear her hubby say hello. I heard her say it when the phone was off. What is going on here? Am I living in a conspiracy theory? Do you get weirdness on your phone?

It is always good to hear from a friend. Those are the best. You might not have talked for a long time but can pick up where you left off. I found out that it was a Canadian phone number but the call came from southern Florida.

That used to happen but not in a long while. I could hear a faint conversation between two other unknown people while talking to my friend.

I have not gotten those unknown calls for a couple of years. Most stopped when I got rid of my landline and went to a smartphone only. This is the strangest thing that happened lately. One time, I got a recording saying that this conversation was interrupted. I could not call back. Once before, I picked up my phone to make a call. I heard my best friend on there. She had picked up her phone to call someone. We connected but neither of us called the other.

I do not pick up calls from unknown number with help of caller id. I have seen calls from Nigeria , Puerto Rico and Pakistan - where I do not have absolutely no known people. Some of these calls seem to be calling via VOIP. These numbers could not be identified aswell and well for the other one , well could be that it was line distortion or misunderstanding. I cannot be definite but then weird. Unless it is recurring , we can never speak on any theories. I do not recollect any weirdness with my phone so far. Well, do not read too much into it. Have a good weekend!

It is puzzling when these things happen and I can only wonder why they happen to me.

Receiving calls from unknown number is okay there can be a cross connection or some thing like that. It's possible that your current number was someone elsa's old number now they have changed it. And that third person still has the same number thinking it would connect to them. But your having that person's number now. Anyway, you can have someone talk when the call is on. But how is it possible that when the phone was off you heard someone talking? This seems to me to be something like we hear in science fictions.

Phones are scary. I laugh at how all the tech companies use them as second layer of password protection. Your post is proof they not safer than anything else. There is some amazing hackers out there and hope this is harmless. I am not sure what you can do about it. Maybe get a new phone but they still like to tie new phones to old phone accounts. Its weird world these days

Maybe the phones are in love and call each other to whisper sweet nothings.

@nela13 I do too but often, blocking does no good. These companies buy up blocks of phone numbers and when you block one, they start calling from the next number. Block that one and they go to the next. Soon, your block list is full and you can't block anyone anymore.

I usually leave them to go to voice-mail. I did not answer. I don't know how my friend got on there. She said I called her but I didn't.
