A Little Bag of Goodness

I opened my front door this afternoon, and ta-da! A little bag of candy goodness! Inside the small bag of candy was a card inviting me to a fall spectacular for kids Wednesday night at a church down the street. That really is a nice thing to do. I realize it’s a small bag of candy, but with as many apartments as we have here, it took a LOT of candy to leave at each door.
I just ate an orange tootsie roll. Those are SO good! I don’t buy Halloween candy so this tastes delicious. What about you?

Online I found a cute round purple container for Halloween. It holds little packets of those cheese ball snacks. I hope the kids will like them. We also have some little store packets of raspberry shortbread cookies. Hubby says I must buy little candy bars for the parents. We didn't get many kids last year but we'll see.....

@thislittlepennyearns I’m not big on chocolate overall, but those chocolate oranges are really good. I can make those things last a long time. Key lime pie is good too. I like how zingy it is. Zingy…sounds like Sheldon Cooper.

I bought a bag yesterday for church to take to downtown Newton to give out, along with ink pens and note pads with our church information on it. If I do not buy it, I cannot eat it, so I did not buy any.

I would like to eat some candy for Halloween but for health reasons like prediabetes, I have to not eat candy.

I am glad you had an unexpected treat. We don't get trick or treaters in my neighborhood, at least not that I have ever seen before. They have a lot of ''Trunk or Treat'' events for the kids, as well as big gatherings, they think this is safer, I guess.

There was a case in the news a few years ago where a bunch of kids were hit by a car trick or treating in a hit and run. Amazingly, all of the kids recovered, but I think it prompted some parents to opt for Trunk or Treats the following year. It was a big story because it involved a large amount of kids. It was a miracle no one was killed.

For the most part, all childen are accompanied by parents or an adult. That's required here, according to the city. However, there are parents who just send the kids out on their own, and that was not acceptable or safe, so the regular Trick or Treating is rather discouraged here now. The Trunk or Treats are now very popular, they try to have a lot of treats, plus activities like mazes, apple dunking, games, etc.

We don't get any Trick or Treaters; but when my husband was home he would buy candy and eat it himself. Have a good week.

I don't usually buy a lot of candy in general. I got a few pieces from the Belk Department's get together. We are signed up to do a few more Halloween things so we'll see if I get anything from them lol.
