It may surprise you to learn that Kansas City, Missouri, will be building a barbecue museum the following spring. The main objective is to present the history and culture of American barbecue cooking style. Writer Jonathan Bender is organizing this in collaboration with chef Alex Pope. It will give more information about the real stories behind the ways of grilling the meat in the community. How do you feel about the BBQ Museum? Would you be open to going to the museum? What types of cuisine in your culture bring the community together? Image Credit: encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com

Since Kansas City is famous for its BBQ, it makes sense to open one there. I’d go if it didn’t cost too much. Kansas City is also host of the Hair Museum. I’d go to that too!

It seems like I can learn more about Kansas City if I go there. In my country, some provinces have their own festivals related to food. However, they are more focused on showcasing dishes, and the main ingredient is fish.

We have barbecues here, especially in the summer. I can't imagine what would be in a museum though.

It is nice to host a barbecue party. It has been a long time since we had this kind of event at home. I heard that the cuts of meat for barbecue in your country are big in size for a person to consume, as claimed by my Japanese student who traveled there before. I might enjoy having them in my system if there is a chance in the future.

@JudyEv I also think so. Regardless, the most important thing is to have some proper meals on the table.

@Shavkat I think servings in the US are even bigger than here, from what I hear.

I am sure you are. When I was in your province before, I noticed most Chinese people love to eat meat, and that includes if they were being grilled.

I don't know, I can't figure it out, do you know their purpose? I think people will get hungry as they visit, and then there will be a big restaurant beside it and people will tend to eat a lot, and the owners will earn a lot.

Based on what I read, they just want to share the history how Kansas City is famous for grilling barbecues and the like.

That's quite interesting. I missed eating grilled food. My doctor advised me against eating grilled food. In Manila there is an establishment that offers grilled ensaymada and it is so good

It is also the same thing here. I am trying my best not to eat grilled food. Since I am in a borderline of hypertension, I need to monitor my diet. That is something new. I have not seen grilled ensaymadas.

@Shavkat If you have time you may go to Hizons at Ermita Manila. This is an old restaurant bake shop and still manages to keep the ensaymada recipe. The late comedian Dolphy was a. regular customer there.

I hope there's food to eat, I'm not going there if at the end of the visit I'll feel hungrier than ever. So no, not a huge fan of this museum. If food is involved, I'd rather go to a fair with food stalls. They can tell me about history when my tummy is full.
