Today's Welsh word is:-
Shwmae
This is one way of saying hello in Welsh, and is pronounced shoo-mai
I was listening to Wynne Evans radio show from 15 October on BBC Radio Wales on the BBC Sounds app last night. He said it was shwmae day. A day to appreciate and use the Welsh language.
In the show he was asking people to phone in and tell him where they'd heard the Welsh language outside of Wales, and how much Welsh they knew. Someone phoned in and said they'd heard the Welsh language in Japan, someone else in South Africa and the Middle East!
He also got people to phone in and message him and say shwmae!
So, shwmae everyone, and cewch ddiwrnod da. (Have a nice day.)

And Shwmae to you too. Welsh has some amazing spelling. I'd have no idea how to pronounce some of the words.
