Today I've been on the 2nd round of my interview from a week ago or 2weeks ago, hard to tell. I applied to 2 cities. Here, our capital city and my hometown. I thought i wouldn't pass the writing part of testing but i did;there were so many details, numbers and financional part isn't my cup of tea cause, i graduated in humanities area. But, second round, here i come.
My main motive to apply and to be a person in a contact center, including financional support is going back to my home town. My relationship with my parents is not great, their health isn't great and i don't see myself here, in a capital city. I miss seeing town on foot, less people, less noise and my priorities changed a long time ago. Also, i want to be happier and i am not happy here. I came just for job and i struggled. Also, i found out my only sibling didn't want me here so all signs are against, including me.
So, on today's interview, in person, oral one, when i mentioned i applied for my hometown as well, a director said or her left hand/a manager that they don't see me there. I said nothing cause, i didn't want an additional negativity or misunderstanding but, why couldn't they tell me in advance so i could have made my own decision. Why can't i choose anything?
I sent now an email, asking if there is a chance, i would like to go to work in my hometown due to my parents' poor health but, i approve any decision they make. Maybe i'm not fit for them at all, maybe i did a bad move here but, i really want once in my life to choose where i want to work and live.
Only once.

i mean, i usually need to follow their flow cause, they are employers but, not seeing me there, it's not enough for me. i hope my email reaches them. if not, another lost dream but, it would be nice, some change. maybe my parents, especially mum wouldn't support me; from her, there were always opposite reactions but i want to feel a little bit happy and i think this would make me happy.
thank you. i'll keep you posted.

I'd get if they really needed you to work in the capital city, otherwise they can keep their opinion to themselves and not act upon it. Or maybe the work environment is worse in your hometown, even if the place is better, so they might have meant well. Whatever that is, I hope they'll listen and address your concern at the very least.

it was a strange sentence hearing them say they don't seem there; like, it was already decided. did they put someone else, was that job meant for someone a long time ago, maybe i should have done interview there, so many unanswered questions.
it could be worse work environment but there would be less phone calls; my hometown has 20 000 people. capital city, a million i hope they see my email, maybe comment it. if they ignore it, i will never know did they see it or not i'm also realistic; i would have to go back to my parents until i find somewhere to live. i have 6months of probationary work so if they don't hire me after 6 months, all goes south. maybe this was just my foolish dream but, i am really tired of big city vibes or i'm getting older. it is neither win or lose for me. i went from nothing, got back to nothing, what did i lose, nothing. like monty phyton sang
thank you; i'll keep you posted.

@grenery8 I know, one would expect the city work to be more stressful, but who knows. Yes, maybe they've already hired someone else in hometown and need more staff in the city. Then they might even transfer you to the town a few months later, if the opportunity arises and they remember your wish. Well, gotta see if they answer to your email first.

@somewitch who knows, reallythat's it, if i remember my wish. when some things go on a full speed, i tend to forget what i wanted from the start you're right. i'll see if they contact me in the end. and imagine this, they asked me if i would be okay with less paycheck but they didn't say what it was. i hate when they do that

i listened many times to others cause i felt they knew better. that didn't work and then i decided going with the flow, didn't work either. well, now, i want this, a change, simpler life and less stress, maybe even less loneliness. thank you. i don't need a lot but it would make me happy, i believe.
