My cat takes seizure medication, which has stopped his seizures. He eats, grooms himself, and uses the litterbox. But he sleeps a lot. I am not sure if this is normal. Maybe the treatment for seizures can make him very tired. He wants to be left alone and sleep. The vet said he needs very expensive tests and we have to travel to another town to see the cause of his seizures. Of course, we can't afford these because it costs more than $500. And my mom and I feel very sick when we travel. So we don't know what to do.
He doesn't seem to suffer. but he sleeps day and night. His appetite has increased, and he is not thin. He is only 5 years old. He always slept a lot so this is not new. Maybe cats sleep a lot. I hope he is not suffering. I tried so hard to avoid stress. Yesterday he didn't move all day and I thought today he would die. But it looks like he is just tired. I was so anxious yesterday. He needs to avoid stress and I need to be calm too. But how can I be calm when I see how lethargic he is? He always slept a lot, but now he seems more tired. Maybe he will die soon or maybe not. Taking care of him is difficult because we don't know what will happen. Giving him medication is not easy because he doesn't want any medication. Is he near the end? Maybe my anxiety is lying to me and he is just tired. I wish I could know if he is near the end. He is still drinking and eating. My anxiety is telling me he will die soon even if his blood tests were good.

500dollars, that's too much. i think he's coping with this. when my cat had stomach problems, she also slept more and ate less but you said your cat has a good appetite so, i think he's okay. i know you're anxious after everything you've done and my opinion is not completely correct but, give it some time. since days are getting shorter, he could be tired due to that. fingers crossed but i have a hunch he will be okay.

If he is very old or very weak then it is fine for him to die. It is just nature's course. If he is not very sick or very old he has chances to live.

i'm sorry you're so anxious about the situation, but it's understandable.
i think it's a good sign that he's eating and grooming himself. maybe he just needs some more rest and he'll be back to normal.
we all need some extra rest when we're sick or recovering
