Good Afternoon!
I had a cooking feast where I multitasked in the kitchen today! My peer was there but didn't do a thing. I did all the cooking. for the record, i ate dinner at 3 p.m. thus the reason i am writing this so early!
To start with I had 6 eggs left which would expire on November 2 so I scrambled 5 eggs. (I had an accident and dropped an egg yolk on the counter and it separated, so I had to wipe it up and put it in the garbage.
My scrambled eggs were very delicious. I put a slice of American cheese on today's serving and melted it in the microwave.
I also made a whole box of frozen mozzarella cheese sticks in the oven by myself i might add, and was making the noodles for a noodle casserole while i had the mozzarella sticks in the oven
The noodle casserole has noodles mixed with cream of chicken soup and cut green beans and then i microwave it with shredded cheese. Mommy used to make this casserole
Then I opened a can of cranberry sauce to cool in the refrigerator
I am going grocery shopping and my peer told me to buy something i want to cook next week when we meet.
I decided i ADORE cooking!
what are you cooking today for dinner?

Your dinner sounds very good. As for me I had pork and kraut which is an absolutely delicious dish.
Just seasoned and browned my pork butt steaks, which I like to use for this dish because they are a thicker cut than a regular pork steak. Then I tossed in a can of sauerkraut and some chicken broth, just to barely cover the meat. Added a touch of brown sugar to calm down the zing of the sauerkraut, and a dash of Worcestershire sauce, and then added in sliced carrots around the edges. Brought it to a hard simmer, covered it and cooked it for about an hour to make the pork fall apart, fork tender.
DELICIOUS!

@LovesEverybody Pork steaks are just a particular cut of pork that comes from the butt roast. It's very good. I like pork chops, but they tend to be quite lean and therefore dry. So I prefer pork steaks and pork butt steaks over pork chops.
Kielbasas and kraut is also very good, as is kielbasa and baked beans with onions. Yummy.
But yeah, the sugar makes the sauerkraut less acidic, which makes it less sour. I almost always add a touch of sugar to it.
As for cooking kielbasa, there is absolutely nothing to it. You simply cut it up into link portions or slices or diced and simply fry it for a few minutes in a frying pan. Voila! Done.

@LovesEverybody To me it just cuts down on the prep time and works just fine with lasagna, so I figure why not use jar sauce for it. I could batch up my regular spaghetti sauce and use that, but I just don't ever feel a need to.

@porwest It does go well with pork.
what makes lasagna different when you use sauce from a jar for it? My mom never made homemade sauce and only made lasagna once. the lasagna was bad so after my dad and I got home from an appointment that evening he supposedly made a wrong turn to the pizza place. ( wrong turn far away from where we went and the pizza place and where we live) but my mom was thrilled as she was happy after we ate her lasagna.

@RasmaSandraAre they the Arby's brand I see often in Walmart? I am buying french fries this weekend to practice with the oven and want to buy seasoned fries. What brand of seasoned fries do you use?
Thank you, i had a super day. I started an audiobook on a CD that I borrowed from the library. I listened to one out of 6 CDs and it was delightful!
Was your day great? How are your cats? Mine is great!

What you had sounds scrumptious! I have not had kielbasa in years. I think i am going to buy some kielbasa this week and have my peer teach me how to make it.
I never had fries fried in the pan, but I would love to try it. Do you buy them seasoned or do you season them yourself?
I never thought to put cheddar cheese with kielbasa, but it sounds like they go great together. My family had kielbasa for the holidays and I remember having it with sauerkraut. Kielbasa was best on a sausage roll with lots of sauerkraut.
Have a great rest of the day!

Wow, you were cooking up a storm. I just ate because I just had a small salad for lunch. I had a packet of Kraft mac and cheese, a little bit of corn and two yogurts one Greek and one Light and Lively.

I think i cooked so much because i like to cook a few day's meals worth of eating at once.
I have lettuce that I plan on having tomorrow to make into a salad before it goes bad.
I almost made Mac and Cheese (store brand) today as I have about 8 boxes of it, there was a time it went on sale for less than $1 a box so i stocked up but decided on the noodle casserole instead. I will probably make the mac and cheese next week.
I am out of yogurt and I didn't shop yesterday when my peer was here as I think I didn't have enough money for a grocery shopping trip. My sister will take me shopping at the end of this week and we are going to Walmart.
When I had yogurt earlier this week, I had Yoplait yogurt. I love strawberry yogurt the best.

@snowy22315 My sister said Amazon does have some food at great prices she sent my nephew pop tarts in college from Amazon and I could not believe how cheap they were for how large of a size they were
I will be sure to buy yogurt as I will be going to Walmart this week, i can't buy yogurt at the regular grocery-only store as a tiny Yoplait yogurt is 99 cents each. the same yogurt is 72 cents at Walmart.
I will probably buy bananas if they look good. sometimes I wait for the produce person who works with bananas and ask them what bananas look good. then I only buy two or three. any more and I can't finish them before they get bad
have a great rest of day!

I am so sorry you can't think straight. I don't like when it is cold as I feel miserable from the cold.

That sounds yummy! I love rice. Do you put butter or something else on your rice? I especially enjoy my rice with melted butter on it. I have not had rice with butter in a long time.
