Holy cow, what a car bill! I’m not complaining (as I’ll explain later this evening in a separate discussion), though…still cheaper than buying a new one! Speaking of “holy cow,” how about the great voice of this gentleman back for another round!
Only the Lonely (Know the Way I Feel) - Roy Orbison
Yes, the parentheses were on the original 45 label, as if they knew that Motels song would be along 20 years later.
How do you pick from this guy’s songs? I had to limit myself or else there’d be a couple more here. That marvelous voice (especially with the line “you-oo-oo-gotta take”) and that timeless song.
Enjoy it yet again.
Only the Lonely (Know the Way I Feel)
Written by Roy Orbison and Joe Melson
Recorded by Roy Orbison
From Roy Orbison Sings Lonely and Blue, 1960
Peak chart position: #2
Today’s country song: “Pick Me Up on Your Way Down”
Maybe tomorrow a new romance:

But the up side is they’re a lot cheaper once they are “paid off.” As I said, the repairs are about the equivalent of six months’ worth of car payments. Then I’m done with them (until the next time). With a new car you have those six months’ worth of payments, then 54-66 MORE. Plus the insurance goes up with a new car.
Anyway, glad you enjoyed the song.

Something like this and “In Dreams” stand out because of those “special” notes.

Roy was the best, wasn’t he. Oh, Pretty Woman is probably my favourite, but I also love this one, and In Dreams, and Blue Bayou, and Penny Arcade. In fact all of them! What a voice.

Yes, one of those people who could have sung the phone book and made it enjoyable.

Ah, sweet youth. The first time I heard the song was by Sonny James, so I didn’t have the added bliss of Roy’s voice!

I like the voice, this is one of the songs that I usually hear on a Sunday when I was young.

You need to change that. And you know I don’t say that about many songs.
