Is it healthier to have early dinner than later in the evening- but for any food ?

Dinner is the mostly the final meal of the day of person. Dinner could be simple or a multi-course one. So, I was overhearing a conversation around dinner during my break. Someone suggested an early dinner is healthier than having food closer to bed time. It allows the body to digest the food better and our metabolism and sleep would be great. I agree with those facts. However, I later notice their “early dinner” to be fast food. I do not think that it going to help them. I am sure that the food they were having were definitely not the ones which were part of the studies they earlier spoke of . I do not see any point in having calorie rich dinner and then say it is part of healthy practice. Even if they skipped lunch , they were having junk food and I do not see any nutritious value in those. What’s your take?

it is advised to be eating earlier but it also depends when you're going to sleep. if you're going at 11 p.m., eating at 6 p.m. seems too long.

you know that saying eat your breakfast alone, share your lunch with a friend and give your dinner to your enemy" that's my take i usually skip the dinner. but if i had to choose - i'd rather have an early dinner, even if it's junk food.

DOctors will tell you to eat your last meal of the day early enough to sleep better at night. But, again it depends on the person. Some people can do perfectly fine with fast food. As it can and does have some nutrional benifit.

@RevivedWarrior It's true a lot of fast food does have extra fats and unhealthy things, but there are healthy options as well. In fact, I get myself a classic chicken sandwitch from burger King. And it's fried, sure, but also made with actual chicken. Bread and has iceburg letace. Colorie-wise it's only about 380. While that does sound like a lot, that's the recommended number for a meal for most people or a little under. Varieous sorces say the adverage adult should be consuming around 2,000 colories a day. So, a 380 colorie sandwitch isn't really that bad. I also find it feeling and will hold me for hours. Where fast food becomes a problem, is when you don't modorate your intake. For example, eating nothing but. But, I get fast food about once maybe twice a week. And I don't eat foods that have more empty colories less often (maybe a couple times a year mostly in the summer.)

Thats an interesting take - fast food could have nutritional benefits. I suppose it may have but not sure if it is at recommended levels , but atleast they would be calorie rich. Perhaps some people could manage it as well, as you pointed it out. Thanks for sharing that thought!

Having dinner 2-3hrs before bedtime is great for me. However, I sometimes get so busy that I have to take dinner a few minutes before bedtime. Being full before bedtime makes me fall asleep quickly but might wake up at around midnight and fail to catch any sleep up to maybe several hours later.

Well, I guess you need to work on the habit of not having food just before bedtime. It is alreayd impacting your health. Thanks for sharing!

I do not eat dinner per se I have snacks earlier in the evening and wind up by taking a mug of hot milk and a boiled egg.

I think everything we eat and the way we eat are all should be healthy. fastfood is not good. it is really to go to the wet market to buy fresh meat or fish and veggies.

People prefer an easy food to eat and hence go to fast food. And definitely we should eat healthy. Thanks for sharing!
