Hi mylotters!! I feel my posture is getting affected also due to my sleeping position! How much I try to, I cannot sleep flat on my back!! I can only fall asleep by sleeping on my side!! Ugh!! I also need one side pillow at very least so that I can hold it while sleeping and I need eye mask as I want the darkness to be forced on my mind! I use a lamp during nights! I do not know what to do to get out of this conditioning!! What's your sleeping positions and are you particular about the atmosphere of your bedroom?? Do you also keep extra pillows? I also need my hand stretched below my head pillow which is comfortable for me to fall asleep!!

I can easily sleep in prone position (on my tummy) that's a favorite one. But I can sleep on the side and in my back as well

I would suggest you to go to your doctor.I have no backache.I sleep on my back and sometimes on my sides.I need just one pillow under my head.Just see your doctor.

Can doctor help it? I have conditioned myself to sleep on my side since my childhood due to fear of ghosts!! Can doctor help with this conditioning?

Because of a car accident, I can no longer sleep on my back. I sleep on my side now. There are pillows designed for side sleepers that also keep your neck correctly aligned while you sleep, but I do not have one.

@anya12adwi Yeah I read online that sleeping on the side increases friction between face and pillow so that kinda fastens the process of aging and people with acne prone skin should avoid doing that...it might cause breakouts.

@prexie Ow! Sad! If I change my sleeping direction, my feel will be facing the door! We also have equivalent of Feng Shui, that is Vastu Shashtra!

I think I have thhe same problem, but what I do is I try to sleep in the right position where I can really relax my body. Because the problem with me is whenever I read or watch drama I tend to sleep unconsciously and I tend to sleep in a wrong position always, that's why I hurt my neck and back always.

I move around all night long. Left side, right side. Some times on my back. I only have one pillow to sleep on.

@grenery8 Yes just a night lamp! Dim lit room just so that I do not trip when I wake up to go to bathroom!! Common, I ain't a modern woman or fancy!! I am always fascinated with lamps and chandeliers!

I think you are taking it way too serious unnneccessarily. You can slowly condition yourself to lie on your back.Immediately it may not happen. Got to do it slowly. Right now your mind and body is conditioned to sleep on side , which is fine. What you can do it is slowly spend some time laying on back and then go back to side. Slowly increase the time spend on laying on back before going to side every 3-4 days and then slowly you will find yourself sleeping flat. Again , use of pillow are unique to each individual and sometimes we tend to take extra pillows. I would say do not stress out on these things. Just enjoy your sleep!

Yes! I am taking this seriously because of my posture! I will try to be more patient with this strategy!
