She put the cart before the horse

When my friend took that decision to call it a day with her marriage I assumed that she had discussed the matter with the one whose opinions mattered to her.
I get a mail from her today to say that she did that to tell him about their decision. He has put his foot down and wants her to reconsider as he said the day that happens that will be the end of her husband.
I too had said this to her but respected her decsioin as after all it was her life.
Apparently it seems she is reconsidering her decision once agin. I am happy as I was devastated when I received her earlier mail.
Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hope she takes a break and then think about separation and also take consideration of her husband's efforts if he wants to save the marriage!

I suggested that she should with help from their common friend send him to a rehab centre and that should be the last step in getting their marriage back on track

It's up to her to take the right decision for herself. If divorce brings peace in her life she can choose it.

But they want her to try and retrieve their marriage at any cost and yes she also has a right to be happy.

Guess you were worrying for the wrong reasons. She can sort her life and she can negotiate the terms and conditions which is win win for both. For example go to rehab and she will bear some of the expense (hypothetical example). She need not hurt his ego or rather have him address and mke him provide the solutions and together they resolve for good. My other suggestion , would be stay away from those and let two adults who have been together resolve their life puzzle. More people only add complication and unwanted dramas and provocations. Be happy whatever happens for them both. You have a great day!

She did try to send him but she did not succeed Let's see now with interference from someone who they both respect things should work out.
