Wish there was a dislike option for comments and responses

Many users do not read the posts and just respond or even comment on responses that have no relevance to the post/responses.
I have come across many such users. When that happens I do not click the like button and move on. But those meaningless responses and comment do earn for the user who receives them.
What do you think. Should there be a 'dislike' option too?

No. I don't think so. Many platforms have disabled the ability to dislike something. The idea is if you like the post, you like it. If you don't, you can move on. If you think the post is in violation of the rules, you can always report it. But that's real extreme. It's okay to dislike something, but by having the option to dislike a post, would discourage users from reading it and that'd be hurtful for the author.

You have a point there. Not liking means disliking but that may not be always as the user may not have come there.

@allknowing Exactly. We have the option to like the entire thread or an indivual comment. Wwhy hurt someone's chance to get their post out there, just because you dislike something someone said.

'like' means you like the post and not that you have read the post

Any comment increases earning. Well I think of it this way: the user atleast took some time out to comment on my post which will benefit me. So, the least I can do is like it. I kinda find it rude if I don't. Unless I like the comment, their earnings, won't increase.
So you should like the comment even if it's irrelevant to your discussion.
Have a good day.

Do you know when insulting comments/respnses are given that person is blocked or at best that contents is deleted but as you say you get paid for those insults. (lol)

I think it makes sense that if you can LIKE something you should be able to DISLIKE it as well.

There should be a like limit, cause I see there's 1 that's going through
peoples posts & scamming them with likes on every comment.

Thats an interesting idea. An unlike button would also help people to limit unwanted comments as well. The unlike could also reverse the earnings for anyone who earned from the response. That would deter many not to add unwanted or irrelevant comments. What if people misused the dislike button? Thats some food for thought. For now your idea of not liking a post would be better. I have not received unwanted comments for any of my discussions so far. I did receive from one person some provoking comments but apart from that unwanted responses or irrelevant , not yet atleast. You have a great day ahead!

Once a comment or response is made that earns irrespective of whether one likes it or not

I take it you don't recall how the 'dislike' button we had here before May 2013 did nothing but cause drama. It is probably best to either ignore or block the idiots.

@Scarred4Lyfe I do not remember how it was in the good old days excepting that we could mark a comment/respnse/ as best answer

@allknowing Sure, then anyone that got mad at you could go around disliking everything you do for no reason. Best without one, too much drama. Just like that star rating crap. Not accurate for any meaningful purpose.
