Reflections on the Election

It's finally "time to turn the page" (as Kamala likes to say) on the last 4 years. Trump gets a 2nd chance in the Oval Office, to right many of the wrongs the HARRIS/BIDEN ADMINISTRATION perpetuated upon the American people. President Trump definitely has his work cut out for him with illegal immigration, higher prices on goods/services, woke ideology, transgenders in woman's sports, rising crime, media censorship, and a Mideast and Ukraine conflict. Unfortunately, the leftist media has not learned its lesson from 4 years ago. As the results came in, before Trump had even taken office, one MSNBC host went on a rampage crying racism, and sexism as reasons for Harris losing. They also claimed Trump would govern as an authoritarian president, code speak for a dictator (Hitler). I'm sure White Supremist and Fascist will follow. Words which will not help heal a divided country. Fun fact: Did you know Donald Trump became only the second president in history to have been elected to 2 non-consecutive terms. Grover Cleveland won the presidency in 1884, then lost 4 years later, but was re-elected again in 1894. ***Here are some things I observed along with my own views about the mainstream and social media's reactions to the presidential election: 1. Rachel Maddow made a pre-election comment saying when we win Elon Musk's Twitter (X) should be shut down (probably for Elon supporting Trump). That's censorship, a threat to Democracy (free speech), an issue the liberals always claim Republican leaders advocate for. 2. The NY Empire State building said it would light up blue or red for each swing state the candidate won. People took to social media when it lit red for Trump criticizing the building for celebrating the end of Democracy, really? 3. I was saddened to see so many misguided, misinformed, hysterical young voters on social media crying tears over their candidate losing. They just don't realize how dangerously close we came to losing our identity as a country. Oh well, I guess with age comes wisdom. 4. I give Kudos to Morning Joe on MSNBC (no friend of Trump) who reported the day after the election without bias. Joe shockingly called the victory a Republican sweep across the nation and Trump's win as historic as Ronald Reagan's. 5. I think America just had enough of the crazy radical policies: woke, trans, lies, border, immigration, crime, and the economy over the last 4 years of the Biden/Harris presidency. 6. My opinion is even though you hear some pundits accepting the election verdict, I expect civil disobedience on the left will continue egged on by the mainstream media. Protests against the Federal Government (which has no say) on topics like abortion rights, (the state's constituents now vote on abortion laws democratically) will be a major focus. Hopefully, any demonstrations will not result in death and violence like the George Floyd "summer of love" protests. 7. You will always find a section of society who are ignorant and uninformed people. I noticed on the day after TV shows some would divide the country over race and gender and use it as an excuse when things did not go their way. If we truly are a democracy, then TV hosts need to accept the resounding decision of the majority of election voters. Playing the race card is counterproductive and keeps our country looking backward instead of forward. One should figure out why so many voters rejected their candidate rather than making such a racist generalization. In closing here is one positive thing that came out of the presidential election for Trump (TDS) haters. After 4 years Trump will be done and can finally fade away into the sunset. There will be no dictatorship, a president can only serve 2 terms. So, give Trump a chance, as he has often said, what have you got to lose. If he fails, there is another election in four years. How's that for a democracy, oops I mean a "Constitutional Republic." Photo- You Tube Trump

They (the left) just don't want to give up the jig. It is what it is. I think the BIGGEST pain they are feeling right now is that they (the media) weren't relevant enough to matter and it's got them all in a bunch. All they can do now is try to reinforce the lies they have been telling all along. Great points here, including pointing out how undemocratic the left is when it comes to "democracy." They have stolen the word to mean, "Democratic so long as it happens on our terms."

Yes, that's right! Enough people saw through the media's and Harris's deception when making their choice. The coverup did not work and when Americans actually started listening to those word salad responses to serious issues that needed to be dealt with, many knew Trump was the best candidate, even if they always did not agree with his rhetoric. When the Channey's, Bushes and Adam Kinzinger are supporting your candidacy, you've got a problem! I'm sure once the mainstream media recovers from the shock, they will go right into attack mode. I hope Trump can restrain himself and not take the bait. He's surrounding himself with a great team this time, not relying on those entrenched in the Deep State.

@porwest Yes, some interesting picks and of course with Trump controversial. I'm worried some of the Republicans like McConnell, Murkowski and Collins who are not onboard with MAGA, will vote no on his selections. Any more defections and they will not be appointed.

@dgobucks226 His picks so far are quite good. Let's hope it works out. I tend to think it will. I have a suspicion this will be a very different term than his first one.

Some of the alternate media vlogs are saying that there is changes of world leaders who care to do the will of the people instead of doing the bidding of the globalists.

Yes, in the U.S. elected leaders serve the people. If they don't, we can vote them out. That's one thing that makes America special. Thanks for your input!

I am glad the election is over. Two days out, and people here are ready to throw hands at each other over it. Trump said it best that this country needs to heal and he hopes it can start when he comes into office. I can't believe how blind people are to what's happened and how people treat each other. I'm surprised we aren't in another civil war ourselves right now. Not surprissed the word rastist has been tossed around so casually. I don't think most people know what the terms mean. Obviously schools are failing our kids. They don't even know how to use the internet properally. They're willing to go with the first article that agrees with their views and calls it research.

I'm sure you are not the only one. Although, some people on the left and especially the media talking heads (who are the real dividers) will never accept the result or give Trump a chance to try and make America great once again.

(You will always find a section of society who are ignorant and uninformed people There will be a lot of misguided, misinformed, hysterical young voters on social media crying tears over their candidate losing, I hope they will wake up this time to SEE how stupid they were losing their minds over.

I've been watching a few of them on social media sites. These people are certainly deluded into believing every ridiculous thing the media says to the point of hysteria over Trumps win. Thanks for your response!

Fact remains a Fact. Kamala Harris did not have any credible achievements to her name. She did not have answers to how to improve life of Americans or which all policies needs to be changed or modified. Worse , using minority card or "vote else doom " or even "hate" will never work . There is no end of democracy (I have never understood why people are saying this! ) People voted and they made a choice. Atleast Trump shared a vision of how he can improve things. Allow the man to govern and see. The best thing Democrats can do is work for a credible candidate who has substance and has vision for Americans and in four years put a good contest. Atleast thats how Democracy works and will work.

There is going to be a lot of changes..let's see what happens DB. But yeah, the vitriol is really vile online and everywhere after the election. People are dumping their foul nature on everyone they can online. It used to be that people just got along, but no more. The hatred won't stop, that is clear. And the stupid thing about it is..the politics know nothing about any of us. I really hope that people will wake up one day and see that all these agendas are unnecessary for survival.

I'm happy Trump won. And I like how you ended your discussion, our country is a Republic. Why can't the media ever say that?

Thanks Anne Marie. Somehow the media has decided to use the catch word "Democracy" rather than Republic and twist the meaning of it to their own purpose. Appreciate the response!

I don't live in the US, I confess that I would prefer Kamala but the decision of the people must be respected and the majority voted for Trump.
