It only took them one day to decide on the appeal....we lost. I won't hear back about the other appeal for a while.
I may have been talking to my husband when he said he was in the room with his wife, Marsha. He has not been moved from his room; and he called his 2nd cousin last night saying she needed to call the cops, etc. I think he has hospital delirium again; but his cousin thinks it's just sundowners. When the sun goes down, elderly people sometimes get confused and delirious. I will find out today when I see him.
BTW, he left his phone on so I called him 3-4 times. He didn't answer.
My medical alert pendant is defective; so I am returning it. I'm still considering Life Alert; but it's around $40+ a month.
Thank you for your continued prayers, support and thoughts.

I would go for Life alert if you're considering a medical alert device. They have fall detection (some of the newer ones do) and have a pretty good range, too. I know you're not looking forward to a bill, but think about what you need and what you get for the money. Life Alert is a reputable company.
I hope your husband is okay, but it's understandable you can lose track of times and days of the week when it's all the same.

I looked at a lot of medical alert devices. Life Alert has a 10-year battery, is waterproof, fall detection, etc. I think it's the best too.

That was what my family members had. It actually saved my aunt’s life one time when she had a bad fall. I was so glad she had that. And if you don’t feel safe in the shower you can leave it on. I hope that’s what you get, Linda.

Ah, I remember that hospital delirium with my dad - yah, somehow it was heightened in the evenings. Glad you will be visiting your husband today - hope he is ok today. It'd be important to go with a medical alert system that has a good reputation and is reliable. Sending hugs to you both .

@much2say I signed up with Medical Guardian. With the promotional discounts and paying for a year in advance, it's $48.53 a month.

He's OK during the day. Turns out Life Alert is $109 per month. They should be ashamed of themselves. Thanks for the hugs.

Insurance is crazy. A life alert will be good for you and $40 is not much to pay for peace of mind.

It's important that Linda has that, she needs the peace of mind of knowing that if she were to fall, she could get help even if she couldn't get up. No, $40 isn't that bad for the safety and peace of mind it would bring.

If these appeals are like other things it may take more than one.
This confusing at night seems normal. It is rather sad.
Is there no other options but Life Alert and the one you had?

I am sorry to hear about all of that. Sounds very difficult...
and might be more pricey but if it is the best it might be worth the price?

That switch back to standard time is tough on older people, for certain! He’s also having a hard time of all of this.

What he needs is better care. They hardly ever check on him; and he's getting dehydrated, etc.

@LindaOHio Odd. How much do they pay you per day for this "care"?

@TheHorse Turns out they are rated F by the BBB and there are 14 1-star review by family members or residents.
