I Did Not Expect A Giant Bull

Me and my best friend and confidante went down to Birmingham yesterday. Usually I drive, but BFAC has got it into her head that she doesn't like driving long distances anymore - I mean, it's only a couple of hours drive, depending on the traffic, but maybe I shouldn't have told her about that time I fell asleep at the wheel. So anyway, we took the train - at least it gave me the chance to do a bit of reading and take a short nap.
I don't think I've been to New Street Station before, so I didn't know what to expect when we arrived. I didn't expect to leave the platform and enter an area that's essentially a large indoor shopping centre - with the ground floor dominated by a giant sculpture of a bull, about 20 feet tall.
It's animated too - every 15 minutes, the head turns towards the platforms to greet visitors. Also the eyes roll and glow red.
It's true that you see some things when taking public transport that you'll miss if you drive.

Yes, I'll probably do that again. I'm not sure how the ticket price compares to the total cost of petrol plus parking, but it's certainly more relaxing.
