Being a little lazy can lead to smarter and innovative solutions!

I never liked room cleaning or doing home work while I was a child. Like everyone I loved playing and watching tv. However, watching tv was often limited due to focus on studies and homework. That’s when I got a little creative and used to do my homework while watching my cartoons! That saved me time for both!
I forgot about these benefits of being lazy once I grew. That innovative side of me was lost once I started college. However, now that I am around people in office, I am seeing more smarter and innovative solutions are coming up, thanks to some of us being lazy.
The home automation system is one example, where instead of going to each room or device and switching off, with help of voice command you could switch everything off. I see programmers using bots to automate some of the tasks and saving time for meaningful tasks. We also have automated home delivery , food delivery and all those are definitely innovative solutions.
Interestingly, I saw clothes folding machine and that is a nice innovation. Guess being a little lazy is not always about avoiding work or chores- its about finding better and smarter ways of getting things done. What do you think?

I don't quite consider those things lazy. I think it's more about multi-tasking and still getting things done. Using a machine to fold clothes though, might be pure lazy or more work then it's worth because you still have to sort things out. You still have to put the clothes where you want them. And, then you have the extra step of loading and unloading the machine.

@kaylachan From reviews I have so far , the dust is not cleared well especially in the corners. Atleast this is what I know on products from Asian region. And yes , super expensive. Not sure if it is durable.

Yes, since we live in the digital era, nearly everything is automated now. I enjoy doing household chores, but there are times when I do not feel like doing them, especially when I am feeling unwell.

That is a good way of thinking about being creative when we all are in a lazy period.

Honestly,I feel like some of the best innovations were started because of laziness. I agree getting things done smarter and easier is the way that many modern innovations have been discovered.

I use some of those helps but not all of them. I learnt how to use home delivery during the pandemia but I would not consider buying shoes without trying them on. I always consider how long it would take me to learn how to do a new job. If it is too long, it is not worth it.
