Staying at home is a sign of...

...aging. This is what my friend is telling me today. I was so skeptical of what she claimed. I told her that it depends on a person's personality. As for me, I used to be an introvert, but I developed being an ambivert. At the back of my mind, she has a point. Most elders prefer to stay at home. On the contrary, I love staying at home rather than going out. It does not mean that I am getting old. It is a matter of choice.
Which age group prefers to spend more time at home, young or old?

I am older and have been staying home alot, but I don't really prefer it. It is really a question of money, distance, and not really having people to do things with.

@snowy22315 I can understand where it is coming from. Since I am still single and open to singlehood, I am thinking what it would be like if I reached the senility stage. I just hope that my immediate family will take good care of me, especially my nieces.
@Dreamerby I like that idea of hibernating at home most of the time. Being lucky is what I can say. For the reason I am working from home and always being around with my immediate family. Regarldess, I am thinking of working offline and online as a part-timer. I have not decided yet and am still processing the possibilities at present.

Since I have been working from home for more than a decade, I am more comfortable being one. All I know is that when I grow older, I change a bit and be at home for personal reasons. I cannot spend my time with some friends who do not value time that much. It needs to change and be productive, which they are not.

I love staying home now, but I do need to move to a nicer home though.

I can feel you. Since my family and I are still renting, I am hoping to have our own place in the future. It has been three years since we were evicted from our family house after my father's burial. It is quite a challenge, though.
As of today, I do not want to go out. However, I need to because my niece needs a requirement that should be done outdoors.

Sometimes people are unreasonable to make opinonated statements like this friend of mine. I just hope that she will be enlightened and think beyond certain situations in life.
Even my niece prefers to stay at home than go out and stroll around certain places in my city. In my view, it is best to be like this and be flexible if she grows older.

Yeah I agree , it depends, but it can be true to some who loves to party and go out.
I think for me, sign of aging is when i get irritated with simple noise... Hahahaha!

I think staying at home is part of one's personality too. When I was a kid I stayed home a lot--so I don't think it has anything to do with "aging".

I am introverted and I love spending time at home. Hehe. I believe those who are younger love spending outdoors.

It is also the same thing. At some point, I must say that I am a late bloomer. When I entered my university, I decided to break free from being an introvert. With this matter, I am grateful for my old man because he was the one who keeps on nagging to change, which I did in the long run.

@Dreamerby During my high school days, most of my teachers tried their best to bring out what I can be by letting me have recitations and the like. They had noticed that I am a timid soul. Eventually, I started to change during my senior high and continued in my university days.

@Shavkat Yeah there' always someone behind a sudden transition. For me it was the whole atmosphere of college and we had public speaking classes. The professor made me speak out in public.

i think its depends about the person, many old person wanna go outside also but no power to stand up alone and stay in their wheelchair, if i saw a person like this, its only 1 word coming to my mind,
" accomplished" let's use the energy we have, enjoy every moment of our younger stage ,so in the end we will not asked our self, did i accomplished everything i want?. ?? have a beautiful day !

I do think it is a given scenario that some people with disabilities (PWDs) do not have the choice but to stay at home. It cannot be denied that they still wait for assistance to go out of their comfort zone. This is also a good example to call the attention of some individuals who easily judge others for not going out from their homes.

Usually younger people like to go out more and have fun and do things, older people tend to stay in more. I think this is because as you get older, you have seen and done most stuff already and your body and mind are less energetic.
But I don't think it's as black and white as just being an age thing.
Take me for example. Although I was more adventurous when I was younger, I've always preferred to stay indoors or do low energy activities. I'm in my late 30's but I've always been a bit of a hermit, even as a child. It's just my personality.
