Good Morning - Update

Surprise! I'm back for the moment.
Life has been chaotic for the past two months. You might get a hint of what's going on from the picture above. I'm moving. I know where. I just don't know when or what my apartment number will be yet.
My son told me he wants me in Ashwaubenon, closer to him. There's a brand new apartment building targeted for low income that went up last year. It's smaller than what I have now, which is fine. I almost feel like I'm going for one of those tiny home places you see on HGTV. It's 19 square feet smaller than my current apartment. I planned to downsize, so it's no problem. I'll be calling Habitat for Humanity as soon as I have my apartment. I'll be getting rid of my dining room table, the organ and a few other larger pieces of furniture I don't need and don't have space for in the new apartment.
No patio. My son will take the grill. The rest of the patio furniture will go to Habitat or get thrown away. The coffee table is going to the recycle place down the road. It's in very bad condition. It was going bad when I put it on the patio when I moved in. So, it is easy to get rid of it.
The fantastic thing about my new apartment is no carpeting in the kitchen, dining, living room and bath area. Only in the bedroom and walk in closet. There is also a washer and dryer in the apartment.
To move there I needed to fill out more paperwork with Housing. They have a special voucher program for the apartment building. I did that in early October. I fully expected to have the apartment by now and get ready to move. I have everything in place for the move, including how I will get to church.
So, there's that. I'll update you more on the move as soon as I have a moving date.
Otherwise, I've been very busy writing and going to special book events. In October the Social Club asked me to give a presentation about my being an author. It went over very well. I sold six books at the event, four the day before, and one to a Book Club member. I was part of Book Club for two months. Last Saturday, November 2, I had an author event - Literacy 2024 book signing event in Sturgeon Bay. I sold another nine books for a total of 20 books in the last month.
I'm still working on In the Hands of Mighty Men. It's going through a major revision. Faith to Believe, also a major revision. I'm writing Wilderness Cry, Wilderness Call, Out of the Darkness, New Horizons - Beginning and Declaration of War.
So, as you can see, I've been busy. There's also church, Bible study at my friend's church and here, and Canasta on Thursdays.
I also have a new Website on Word Press. I'll update my web address here. I'm under Valerie Writes on the site.
I have missed being here, but right now it's almost impossible with everything going on in my life right now.
I haven't been swimming. My friend who took me hasn't been able to go. Orders from her doctor with physical problems she's been going through, and in the past two weeks because she's having knee replacement surgery tomorrow. I'm hoping I can get back to the Kroc after my move.
There you have it. It's been hectic around here. I also fit in my steps and I'm keeping track of what I eat. My new low is 184.7. I hoped to be in the 170s by now, but not yet.
Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me. What have you guys been up to while I've been away?

I don't stick with one book when I'm writing. I write when I'm not editing, which is most of the time now. If the editing isn't going well, I'll write and hope the story is there for me to write. I know you know what I mean by that.
Thank you. I hope I reach 170 soon too.

You know you’ve been missed! We need your positivity around here. However, I’m so glad you are doing so well. I was really excited when you had told me you were moving closer to your son.
Not much is going on with me. Just trying to keep my spirits up!

I am happy you've been able to keep busy and get what you need done. George and I are home, and it's been one year since his stroke. He still has his peg tube and still isn't driving, but seems to want to get back to driving. He's been steadily gaining weight and asking me for random food items. Being told last month he can eat whatever he wants has been a game changer. He still has days where all he has is tube food (which he drinks orally because the bottle says he can) but he's still getting consistant meals. We have days where he doesn't get outside, but he's trying. I am thankful for every day I have with him.

I've wanted to downsize for a long time. I'm finally doing it with this move. I needed to buy a new bed because my king wouldn't fit comfortably in the bedroom. I'm getting rid of things I don't need. I will be more relaxed in a smaller space.

The only thing I'm sad about is the organ. It belonged to my grandparents. I don't have room for it.

Glad you're back. There's a lot going on my life too. My husband still is not home. He's been gone since February 1. He came home for less than 24 hours and fell 3 times; so he had to go back into rehab. Have a good day and good luck with the move.
