Five typhoons in one month. All three of them hit the northern province of Luzon and made landfall, there were typhoons Kristine, Marce, and Nika. While the other one did not make a landfall bere but in Taiwan but it passed through the Northern province as well bringing all the rain and wind.
The fifth one is currently on its way to make landfall in the northern province of Luzon just like the past 3 typhoons. I think our province in the North has been badly beaten up by all the typhoons.
I hope typhoon Ofel will be kinder this time.

Yeah I also hope for the same. They cause irreparable damage!

That is scary indeed. When hurricanes (what we call typhoons in America) hit, there’s a lot of country to escape to. Where do you go in an island nation???

@rakski — people can evacuate hundreds of miles inland if they so desire.

It was Typhoon Marce when I finally arrived back home from a short vacation abroad. In order to allow us to arrive before the actual typhoon made landfall, they altered the route, which alarmed us that our plane might fly through the storm. After that, another typhoon made its appearance, but our area was spared its fury; we only had a few isolated rainstorms.
It saddens me to see that people in the North appear to be the ones most affected by these storms and that they are in dire need of aid in order to recover from the catastrophe.

@rakski Historically speaking, typhoons have always pounded our province. However, the trend has already moved to Northern Luzon in recent decades. It is said that the path's shift to the north is caused by the Sierra Madre mountains' deforestation. The mountain ranges are said to have served as a natural storm barrier. Some of them are now depleted. The typhoon's path has also changed as a result of the breach in the natural barrier.

That's good. As long as it doesn't do much damage as in taking away lives or homes, its gonna be fine.

@rakski You are welcome since hurricanes, tornadoes are dangerous and my state is in the firing line of storms.

Honestly speaking;I'm surprised. So many storms in a month!! Your government must have been ready to minimize the disaster.

Where is it in the north? Typhoon Ofel is being felt here. It rained heavily a while ago.
