I should have read the label sooner.

I thought I had just been sent regular makeup wipe removers to try to give a review. I had them sitting on my counter for a week, but it wasn’t until I picked up the wipe itself and read “Snail Mucin”, that it really registered what it was they wanted me to try. I figure things that are normal now used to be considered weird, so I shouldn’t be squeamish. It looks and feels just like a regular one you’d get at the local drugstore, only the ingredients are fewer.

It was fine. It didn’t feel odd or unusual at all.

@AmbiePam You are a brave woman. Once I read the word snail, I would have been done with it! Ugh.

I have heard lately even about pills made with snail parts. It is used, it says, fot knee problems. I asked my doctor and he laughed.

If it can help, I’m all for it, even if it sounds weird. Knee problems are awful.

@marguicha I’ve got sea moss coming to my house because I heard it helped pain and inflammation. So, if you need help hunting those snails, you know I’d be with you! After all, who eats sea moss?!

@AmbiePam If I knew it helped, I´d go hunt snails in the garden.

Hey, the little snail worked hard for you to create this wipe. Snail mucin is the mucus that snails secrete. Snails can produce different types of mucin for different purposes. For example, the mucin from a snail’s foot helps the snail lubricate its path and stick to surfaces. It’s what allows the snail to travel upside down.

@ambiepam My brother “farms” snails in his garden - he’s French - but I don’t think he’s ever tried to turn them into makeup removing wipes.

@allknowing They sent me several, so I’m probably going to use them a few more nights before I write the review. Just in case I notice a difference; I want to give it a fair chance.

It was just like any other one. I’ve only ever used one makeup wipe remover that stood out to me, and it’s my go to cleansing cloth every night unless I’m testing something new. This one here isn’t impressive enough to change my routine.

I have been reading a lot lately about snail slime beauty treatments. I refuse to go get the little guys out of my yard and have them crawl on my face, for sure. Lots of beauty treatments have odd beginnings.
