Went to see my husband yesterday. He and his 2nd cousin got into a tiff which they always seem to do. My husband doesn't just bite his tongue. His cousin is loud, opinionated, etc.; and they always seem to lock horns. Also, he now has a roommate; so we didn't talk as much as we normally do. He did say he wants to go back to the old facility. I think he will get better care there.
Received the rejection of our appeal (the 2nd one). I honestly don't know if it's work the time and trouble to keep appealing. They are NOT going to rule in our favor.
My medical alert pendant is supposed to arrive today.
Thank you for your continued prayers, support and thoughts.

Maybe you need to find a different way to approach the appeal.

@LindaOHio ......And there is no advocate for him that could be of help?

@celticeagle Not in this case. They say he doesn't need skilled nursing anymore...I disagreed...they won. They want him in long-term care because they don't pay for long-term care.

Unfortunately there's only one way...present the evidence and see what they say.

No. They won't and you're just wasting more time and money. It won't help because even if they did, it would not come quickly. He's been in rehab far longer than most, so of course they won't.

@LindaOHio Not worth it. I do see where you're trying, but you're fighting a loosing battle while dishing out your savings to keep him in rehab.

@Dena91 He has decided that it's too much of a change for him to go back to the old place.

I thought this was supposed to be a better facility than the other one, but I guess it's a case of the devil you know, etc.

They had 4 stars on the website; but it turns out they are rated F on the Better Business Bureau website.

Ask if he can get some therapy there as well. Nobody wants him just wasting away in the bed.

Thank you. I'm going to confirm that's where he wants to go and then I'll make arrangements with the old facility.

Hope he can get back to the previous facility and isn't stuck there much longer. Losing the appeal is a bummer.
Glad your medical alert pendant is arriving today. Im glad you decided to get one.

Sorry about the appeals, that is a bummer. I think he did get better care at the other place, plus you know what to expect. Doing all these things on your hubby's behalf is like having a job or a hobby. I hope you have time to do things just for you..Take care of yourself first.

I'd rather he kept up his hope. Maybe it will help him get stronger faster.
