Well, that was a success.

Good Afternoon.
Well, I was able to talk George to going to Aldi. He wanted his nails done, but waited until we were in Aldi to tell me. Fine. We made it work. And, he got some extra walking in. If he pushes a cart or my wheelchair, he'll remember to pick up his feet. However, he tends to drag his foot if he is walking un assisted. It's kid of like a little bunny hop instead of actual walking. But, it gets him from point a to b. Again, fine. If it gets the job done.
On our way back at to Aldi (the nail place and George's old Pizza hut are in the same plazza) we stopped to talk to someone. And, George was having a good old time. Even though half of what he was saying didn't make much sense. But, I let him keep right on talking. Chiming in only when I had to.
So I'm thankful for that.

It's important for him to interact with people. And he likes to talk to people.

@sallypup Yeah. I feel for the pizza hut employee we talked to, because I bet she was hella confused.

George is doing so well!!! I’m incredibly thankful to hear about his progress! I know what you were feeling a year ago at this time, and I also know I can’t be half as happy as you are!!

A year ago at this time, I'd been questioning if I took him to the right hospital. Despite EMS trying to assure me it was a stroke, I followed the rule of thumb a parametic told me when I was young, and transported him to the nearest er to our house. That hospital despite braging they were the best in stroke care, has a reputation for poor patient care.
During that month-long hospital stay I nearly lost him three times. He never coded, but he came damn close.
Next week will be Thanksgiving, and it's nice to look back last year and honestly say this one is better.

I know he wishes he could do more to help, but pushing a cart and going to get his nails done was a lot.
