How do you deal with medication allergies?

I have a few medication allergies that are difficult to deal with, and they are a problem due to my medical issues. I'm allergic to local anesthetics, so I have to be put under for any procedure requiring a local. I'm suddenly allergic to magnesium, I found this out a couple of hours after being discharged from the ER one morning after it was given to me. I had to get allergy meds because I broke out in hives and rashes. So because of that, I can't have magnesium, which is hard because it's in most foods. Anyone else have similar issues?

I think it is better to consult a doctor about this matter. It is the safest thing that we can do.
