Do You Use Your Imagination A Bit Too Much?

When I was a kid, it made a little more sense, since there was still time to achieve goals and such, but in my 40s, I can't just turn it off. I should consciously try to limit it to earlier in the day, but it might only manifest into something more later on.. Many times I'll be a little sleepy and if it's late, I'll chance it and go to bed, and suddenly, my mind starts racing. There was a time months ago when I would lay on my couch until I had trouble keeping my eyes closed, and then go to sleep, but when I (accidentally) see it's late, I sometimes force myself going to bed. I wonder if its a defensve mechanism. If you can't have _______, I guess the next best thing to do is imagine it, and sometimes using other things side-by-side to enhance this usually short experience.... But the problem is knowing it can't/won't happen (for an assortment of reasons), which becomes a letdown, and very counter-productive. I'm wondering if me typing this will stick more into my subconsciosness.

I don't think you can use your imagination too much. I think we're all different in our own way.

It's hard for me to even know or compare, because I've never NOT used my imagination. I'm sure I did less of this when I was more active, traveling, talking to people, but not in isolation.

As a child I have so many magical thoughts and when I grow up I have so many day dreams that I ask God to make it come true. But I also pray to God to redirect me and teach me to control it, coz over imagining things can lead us to frustrations and delusions an its true in my experiences. Example when I was in highschool I imagine that I have friends who truly care, so I always imagine that, scenarios that they will be there to save the day, etc., friendship that I long for, but at the end, it disappoint me, because not all my friends like me the way they like others inside our group of friends, like when they have chocolate thy will give it to some of our friends and they will not give me anything. The same thing goes to any situation. God remind me to be witty and emotionally intelligent, not be deceived from whT I see, and know tht if ever I lack I have God who have everything and throught it I will not lack anything...

I think it does for me.. I'll be imagining, and then suddenly, I think "Oh, that didn't happen" where wishful thinking turns into regret, and forces me to look at my life and be sad.

I believe that using your imagination is okay since Albert Einstein said that it is okay to use your imagination even though some other people think it is for kids only.
