Did Matt Gaetz really step down?

I get my news from FOX, MSM, and Lefty websites. I just read on a Lefty website that Trump's absurd pick for Attorney General, Matt Gaetz, has stepped down. As you know, Gaetz stepped down from his position in Congress to try and stop the release on the results of an investigation into his sexual improprieties. He has been accused of sex with minors and possible sex trafficking. Do you think this could be true? Did Matt Gaetz really step down? Or is it just more PC Lefty BS? I have some research ahead of me this morning. I do not work until mid-afternoon.

@thehorse I get my news from the BBC and they concur so it must be approximating to the truth maybe. How careless to start losing people before taking office.

I see that AP and NYT are on it now. What a Clown Show we're up against here in the US.

It's the truth. I'm glad he did step down. Have a good weekend.

I am glad too. I still wonder if Trump will last until January. I actually fear "president Vance" less than I fear "president Trump." Vance is a "spineless invertebrate," to quote P.G. Wodehouse in "Jeeves Takes Charge," and might not be as harmful to the US.

@LindaOHio I hope that we don't have toilet paper and paper towel wars again. And that I can keep working. Times were tough under Trump. But we survived as a Democracy. I hope we do again. I think Moderates are "wimps" for not having locked Trump up long ago.

@TheHorse I don't know enough about Vance to comment. This will be an interesting 4 years to say the least.

I'm sure your research on this won't take long . . . the news is everywhere. He sure did withdraw!

Heh. My hunch is that he'll claim it was because his case was a distraction to Trump's transition. But others will claim that those documents are soon to be leaked, and he wants to be out of the public eye.

I get that he is for sure in the wrong for being the age he was and taking advantage of someone underage. But that seventeen year old knew exactly what she was doing as well. Yet they never dive into that part of it.

It will be fun to see how the different news sources "frame" it. Will he do time?
