The Morning Show

I was expecting ice on my windshield, so I went out this morning to start the car early.
The sun was just peeping, and what do you suppose was in the field across from me?
A buck!. A male deer. He meandered, sauntered, skipped, leaped, sniffed and pranced up and down the side of the road. He stared at me for quite a while.
He took off towards "down town" then turned around, and came back. He then looked to be headed for the cedar trees. Again, he came back. Eventually he went leaping and prancing across the field. Perhaps he was headed for the highway.
Oh, and there was no ice on the car. It was a great start to my morning.

Talk about a real lie show. I hope that he didn't wind up in traffic. Wildlife don't seem to fear it.

I did not see him anywhere on the road when I went in to work. They forget to be afraid when pursuing their love life in the fall.

@GardenGerty I see that a lot with a lot of different kinds of birds. You'll see them sit on power lines or blocking traffic. One apartment complex I lived in, the ducks would walk into people's appartments on the ground floor if you weren't looking.

@kaylachan That would be funny, once. Not if it happened a lot. We share their world, I guess.

I did, and he watched me, and tilted his head to one side and I felt like he was just saying "watch me, watch me!!"

It is fun and also a nice feeling when the animals tolerate our presence.

It's always nice to see wildlife. We saw two deer on our way back from the rehab facility on Sunday. Have a good weekend.

I really prefer to see them and not hit them, or be hit by them. I hope you enjoyed the ones you saw.

@LindaOHio Where my daughter used to live was really in the suburbs, but often at the end of the day a pair of mallard ducks would swoop down over the houses to her bird feeder. She also had a wild turkey stroll through her yard sale.

@GardenGerty It's always exciting to see wildlife. When my SIL was here we saw about 10 wild turkeys in someone's front yard on the way to Cleveland Clinic one day.
