Goodbye Disneyland/Hello Canada

So to recap, I didn’t want to go to Jamaica, but I was fine with Disneyland. My sister floated a new idea that looks like it will stick, and now my dad said he and my stepmom will go too. My sister had been trying to get them to go on a family trip, and this one appealed to him. The cruise leaves from Boston, goes to Maine, then New Brunswick, then Prince Edward Island, and a stop in Nova Scotia. I’m very excited about it (this is for next fall). I’ve always wanted to go to Canada. Some people say how do you live in the United States, and have never been to Canada. Well, look at a map. Oklahoma, where I live, is far from Canada. Meanwhile, I’ve been to Mexico several times.
You know my sister is especially excited about Prince Edward Island after reading Anne of Green Gables. I went on a cruise in my early 20s, but it was two ports in Mexico, and I wasn’t doing very well. I didn’t get to enjoy anything on the ship, and I think I missed a lot.
This boat is a lot smaller so I’m not worried about getting crushed in a mass of people either. My sister and her family went on a cruise last month and they saw shows on the boat, took sushi rolling classes. I thought I was going to have to save every penny, but my dad said he wants me to be able to enjoy my time, so he’s covering the cost for me. I think he feels badly so much of my life has been ruled by sickness. Here’s a really great part: my roommate is Amyra (my 13 yr. Old niece).
We’re all really excited about it!

To me that is a lot more exciting than Disney anything. Do you have a passport? You need one, right, or at least a "real ID" driver's license. I bet your whole family really enjoys this trip.

A LOT more exciting. I thought they just wanted to go someplace hot if it were a cruise, but when she mentioned this, I thought, I can do that! And yes, I’ll need a passport. If I have a passport they won’t require a Real ID. I had a passport, but unfortunately, during my mom’s dementia years she got ahold of some things we never found.
They’re talking about going early to get to see a little bit of Boston before we leave too. This is going to be so fun.

Good memories are like The Daffodils! "For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils"
Good memories lift up our gloomy spirits!

Ohhhh, that sounds like a fabulous family vacation plan ! Ah, but was your original plan to come out here (Disneyland)? In all honestly, the new plans are much more appealing than going to a way overcrowded amusement park. I am so excited for you all!!!

I am excited for you.
You'll be stopping in some amazing ports, and you have the sweetest roommate, next to you of course.
I know what you mean about not being to our country, only those near the border usually cross, it is the same here.
I have never been beyond our neighbouring state of Michigan.
One day we will travel down to your area.

@thislittlepennyearns Cozumel was just too hot for me, and I know Jamaica would have been to.

@AmbiePam I went on a Canadian cruise when I was growing up and LOVED it. I think I liked it more than the Cozumel/Jamaica/Grand Caymen cruise I went on

Wow! It sounds like you’re going to have a great time. I’ve never been on a cruise, but it’s something I’m looking forward to experiencing when I become financially successful. Haha! Right now, I can’t afford such a trip because I’m the only one supporting my parents.

@freelancermariagrace It’s going to happen, You revere your parents too much not to be rewarded for your loving actions.

Hope you enjoy!
