Wild night out.

We rarely go out to anything at night for a number of reasons, but principally because there is rarely anything we wish to go to.
Tonight however we went to see a play in a sports centre, performed by a local amateur dramatic society. Oh dear.
The actors were fine, although the females had loads of spark and moxie but not so the males who were so wooden and lifeless.
The play itself was not to my taste, a fiction surrounding Charles Dickens involving three prostitutes. Far too much of a French farce for my liking, making light of adultery and prostitution.
The seats were uncomfartable and the auditorium cold. An elderly gentleman behind me kept loudly asking his wife what was going on because he was deaf. The woman in front of me was a dead ringer for Miriam Margolyes, but nowhere nearly as foul-mouthed as she.
I was so glad when it all came to an end, although it was a brave effort on the part of the actors and they deserved applause even if it was half-hearted.

@everwonderwhy I suppose overall I had a good time. Great for people watching and there were plenty of odd-balls around tonight for my entertainment.

@xFiacre What sort of 'odd-balls'? The acting not so great?

One of those huh? I have been to many and I was glad when they were over. Like why did this people waste their time from the writer to the performers. Sounds pretty humdrum. Hope you salvaged the evening in other ways.

I had to review an amateur theatre play during college and I wrote up everything as I perceived it and my professor said I had "panned" the play and loved what I wrote and used it as an example for years for his other classes. I had never heard the term "pan" before. Actually I'm looking it up online this morning and can't find the word or a definition of it. What word am I looking for?
