While we were in the Balkans, and I'm sorry but I can't remember which country we were in at this particular point, we saw many outdoor cafes with hookah's on them and I snapped this photo there.
A hookah is like a pipe or vessel or something used to smoke either tobacco, hashish, or other things. I'm not sure what all you can smoke using a hookah.
I do know that my city has a couple of hookah lounges, but they're not authentic.
Have you ever seen or used a hookah before?
Photo taken by me.

No, I would be curious to try though as long as it didn't get me hooked on smoking. I have smoked in the past, and don't want to get on that merry go round again, It is terrible for your health and wallet.

I'm not into smoking anything. A friend (from Syria) was saying she loved smoking through a hookah . . . I don't know what goes in there either, but she says there are some nice flavors. I don't know if she goes to those lounges - it just sounded like she had one at home. Yah, not my thing.

No. I did see an episode of Untold Stories of the E.R. where a woman got carbon Monxide poising because of one of those things. Or, several because of how you light them.

Unfortunately there’s a lot of problems in those hookah lounges in town.
I don’t smoke anything, so I’ve never seen or used one.

The convenience stores sell them here with the pot paraphernalia.
They are referred to as bongs and you can smoke just about anything from them.
I worked for a company where the sales staff used to go out into the garage and smoke the hookah, it is accepted in their culture, although I never knew/cared what they were smoking.
