In Bengal in winter there are abundant peas harvest. We buy them is bulk. The peas are crushed and grinded into a paste called pur in bengali. Then some flour is mixed and they are shaped in round manner and kachori is made. In winter it is a good breakfast.

This sounds like a protein rich porridge. I have ground dried peas and put the peas flour into my dough when I make bread.

Oh, that delicacy is something that we too enjoy here. Many of us prefer Onions but Peas also make for a good filling. We use Peas a lot in Winters like in Peas-Carrot-Potato Dry vegetable, Peas Pulao(Rice preparation) and Cottage Cheese-Peas (Matar Paneer). Some people also add Peas to Spinach dishes although I am not a big fan of those dishes.
