A luxury apartment building is soon going to be constructed near to my area with a price tag ranging from between $200k – $350k (US Dollar!)
Well, may be there are few in my area who could be super rich or has huge disposable income to buy an apartment in that one. But then there are many who are cannot have that amount even on retiring. There are many who are struggling to buy a house at least at 1/10 th of that price . Also I see the price of things are slowly increasing even above the inflation mark. What I see is a large of population face challenges when it comes to affordable housing and healthcare and perhaps other amenities as well.
At the same time, the glaring inequality- there is a section of population who have greater access to opportunities and wealth. It makes me think - Is your country a poor country where rich people live or is your country a rich country where poor people live?
I am unable to get a proper answer to this question. What are your thoughts?

we're a poor country where both rich and poor people live. there's a big difference between rich and poor. middle class is more poor than it is rich hahah
for a regular Bosnian, it's not too easy. there were the news where it was said that groceries for a family of 4 cost around 2000 BAM (1.078 USD) and the average wage is 800BAM (431 USD). not to mention if you have to pay for rent and utilities and the fact that many people have trouble finding a job.
that's why a lot of people live and work in EU countries and spend their money in Bosnia because everything is cheaper here - for them.
well, at least the healthcare is free, but you need to wait a long time if you need to do ultrasound, MRI and stuff like that.

The inequality is a big hurdle for the country to progress in long run. However, Chile is much better than some of its neighbours. Thanks for sharing!

I feel our countryis rich in the sense we're more developed then other counteries, but we have a growing number of homeless people living on the streets or living in their cars for whatever reason. In some cases it's due to adaction and the inability to budget the money they do have in other cases it's due to the climb in the cost of living where there's lack of affordable housing. In my city alone a lot of apartment complexes and housing developments are going up. But, for only those who can afford it. My husband and I were lucky enough to pay off our house three years ago, but still.
In an effort to offset costs, and make more money, some apartments have chosen to rent apartments by the room and get two to four people (each with their own lease) in at any given time. But, whatever they can do, right?

Well, affordable housing is a growing concern as number of people who can accomodate them is not increasing proportionately. US is definitely a rich country. Thanks for sharing!

@RevivedWarrior I wouldn't say we're rich by any streach. We're just more developed.

I live in a poor country where most people are from middle class or poor. Lately, some rich people from other countries are falling in love with my country but that only makes the house prices impossible for us.
